SXSW Snapshots – Holly Brown Pictures
http://hollybrownpictures.com/sxsw-snapshots
Great energy on the streets at SXSW. It has been strange with the weird weather, very windy with rain and unseasonably cool. This time in Austin it is usually full on sunshine and unbearably hot. Maybe the geo-engineering. Has made an impact. So it seems. As I roamed around, I discovered several colorful and creative people and scenes. You can see the man with the “free hugs” sign (below) in the background, I think I have seen him (or at least his sign) at Eeyore’s Birthday Party. The bartenders at Amped.

Private Beach: October 2014
http://ourprivatebeach.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Trying to make sense of a weird world - and maybe make it a little better. Thursday, October 30, 2014. Just outside the market building in Taipo, a big banner exhorts those reading it to "Support Our Police". It appears from the two-hands logo in the corner to have been erected by the objectionable Robert Chow's Alliance for Sleaze and Hypocrisy. And there lies the problem: if they are "our" police, who are we? Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Occupy Centrsl with Peace, Love and a Sense of Humour. Anyway, do r...

Life from Ann Arbor: First Fridays in Ypsilanti
http://lifefroma2.blogspot.com/2015/07/first-fridays-in-ypailanti.html
Home - Life From Ann Arbor. Adventures in Food and Word. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. First Fridays in Ypsilanti. When I lived in Kalamazoo, I would often accompany my grandparents to the Art Hop. Some of these shows and he was friends with a lot of the other artists, too. Everywhere I've moved, I have tried to find more events like Art Hop. But there is no singular name for such an event, so they are hard to find. While visiting Seattle. Friends and I stumbled upon the Fremont Art Walk. Since we both had t...

http://lifefroma2.blogspot.com/2011/07/ann-arbor-summer-art-fair-2011.html
Home - Life From Ann Arbor. Adventures in Food and Word. Friday, July 29, 2011. Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair 2011. Ever since I was a wee one scribbling with crayons, I have heard about the art fairs in Ann Arbor. My grandfather is an artist and photographer, and I remember quite distinctly my mother's old art box filled with smelly, messy tubes of cracked paint. We went to gallery openings that included my grandfather's work at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art. To get out of the heat, have a bite to eat, and...
