Friday, February 26, 2010. DOS is a disk operating system, it organizes data files, loads program files, and controls input and output. Booting is the first thing your computer does when it turns on. DOS is text based. To communicate with DOS, the screen has a prompt where you enter a command. Case insensitive means that it doesn't matter if you use lower case or upper case.
