First Flight: Great White. This is the first flight of the CASA 3D printed quadcopter which we will be using for the Royal Institution Coding for Year 9 project. The frame was designed by en-topia. And 3D printed in PLA by @d igitalurban. Using his MakerBot printer. I'm just glad it actually flies and that I didn't hit anything. It has been a week since the UK Drone Show agility competition and I've been going through the post flight analysis. The competition saw flights 6, 7 and 8 of the Diatone 250 Ghost Frame. And the first three flights of it with the Taranis X9D transmitter, X8R receiver and Fat Shark FPV kit. Frame design and modelling. Racing Drones don't tend to remain in a horizontal state when they race. Instead they race with approximately a 15 degree slope as shown in the image below:. Building a Micro Quadcopter, Part 0. We had a requirement to build a micro quadcopter for a workshop in March, so I needed to get all the hardware together and see that it's possible. I've labelled this as "part 0" because I really just want to assess the feasibility at this stage. Any subsequent parts will be the actual building. 3D Printed Micro Quadcopter. A 3D printed frame designed by en-topia. And printed by CASA's Director ( digitalurban. On its own, this weighs 12g. The HubSan X4 props are 55mm diameter and the ruler gives a sense of scale. The diagonals are 100mm. The four replacement HubSan X4 motors are a push fit in the holes, using sellotape around the motor cans where necessary to ensure a tight fit.
