Virtual Culture Insight: KCB201 Chat

http://www.virtualcultureinsight.blogspot.com/2006/05/kcb201-chat.html

Thursday, May 11, 2006. It was also suprising to read in the newspaper that my old school, John Paul College. Allows students to use Ipod, mobile phones and other electronic devices. While in class as they believe it is the only way to teach children these days. They think because students will study at home whilst listening to music, chatting on msn and reading their textbooks that it is appropriate to do this at school. This also ties into issues that I discuss in KCB301 with the idea of.

Virtual Culture Insight: Changing relationships between the producer and the audience

http://www.virtualcultureinsight.blogspot.com/2006/04/changing-relationships-between.html

Thursday, April 20, 2006. Changing relationships between the producer and the audience. The question below was posed to me in another subject KCB301 and I believe it directly links to discussion within our subject so I decided to share my analysis with you. How has the relationship between media producers and audiences changed in recent years? Do these shifts provide audiences with more social and cultural power over the media they consume? David (2004, p.92). Are multiplatform and cross-media events tha...

Tuesday, May 09, 2006. Hey guys and girls,. Just commenting on some other things I found on Hi5 the community space that I have been a part of for about half a year now. I don't think it is set up very well for the users who like to meet people with the same interests as I only just found out after 6 months that you can join interest groups. I joined the 'all ride Yamahas forever! Here is the site if you are interested in joining. www.hi5.com. See you all in the lecture. Posted by Steph21 @ 11:35 PM.

Saturday, April 15, 2006. I thought the dog ws cute. Well I did promise a personal post so here it is. An update on the wonderful world of Steph. Well I went to the Dockside Comedy Club. And I suggest that you all get your butts down there in April because I have never seen a group of funnier guys than this and I love stand up comedy. WARNING:. They are a bit rude and offensive at times. Just a question: Why is it that people as couples never like to do the same things and opposite attract?

Thursday, March 30, 2006. Yes I know the name was a little corny but I knew it would get your attention as it works for me. Age: 21 - I will be 22 on the 12th April. Hair Colour: Undecided - I am Blonde but I recently dyed my hair brown and in the process of deciding if it will stick with me. Status: Committed - to a 6 foot, 96kg male who rides an Yamaha R1. A Blog dedicated to the discussion and analysis of content in KCB201: Virtual Cultures. Saturday, April 29, 2006. Collaboration v. Exploitation. Wednesday night’s lecture from John Banks was about the evolution of the relationship between media producers and fans from conventional (or conflicting) to collaborative. John argued that Non-market Peer Production. Or Decentralised Collaborative Networks are increasingly important to the commercial success of online media (such as gaming). Is it right that.

Friday, March 31, 2006. So far I found the subject really interesting. I’m not a very pro-active user of the internet, as I said before this is my first blog entry. I manly use the internet to email friends I’ve already established, and to look up news, movie times, fashion stuff and even occasionally to check out eBay. Wednesday, April 05, 2006. I'm not totally sure how to use my blog space yet so this is just a quick link to show you the online community I have been chatting with (is that what you call it? The site is an Australian fashion magazine site and so far, though I have only posted twice) it's been fun. The people on the forum are all Australian, or traveling Australians and they're all interested in fashion, and in particular the emergence of Australian fashion labels in a world market. russh.

If you had asked me six months ago to share my journal online I would have (politely) told you to f* * off. Six months later I’m contributing to my blog at least once a week and hoping that classmates comment on my latest entry. Thursday, April 27, 2006. I had to add this article to my blog. Not really subject related, but the other part of my study is law and i can tell you- codes or just hard to read judgements are not something. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. The last couple of classes we have been participating in chat sessions. Trying to nut out the issues of the course. It was fairly helpful- my biggest issue was being able to follow the chat sessions fast enough to participate. I would attempt to comment and before i know it the line i wanted to address was off the screen. It would have been easier had i been able to make screen bigger i would have found it easier i suppose. But its week 13 and the end of classes. It seems off point...

Thursday, March 30, 2006. There has to be something about blogs that makes me want to put in a little "about me" entry. I have had a look around at other blogs, with the exception of some more "technical" blogs to me i get this overwhelming sense that despite all the anonymity the internet can provide, people still want to show who they are and provide insights into their personal worlds. Whole blogs that show their family photos and their gorgeous children or talk about their therapy sessions. I want to...
