August 2, 2009 in Blog. You will already have heard me make mention of ‘tags’ throughout this course – and following on from my presentation in week one of this semester, it is a great idea to make use of the Tags function on WordPress. So…. Hat are Tags and why should you use them? Tags are a searchable classification, as are categories (as previously discussed) – but tags even more so. Very often people confuse the terms. And use them interchangeably…but they are definitely not. And found more easily i...

My studio pals came back from the JAA Fair with samples of Firescoff which promises to be a good alternative to flux for soldering and Prips flux for controlling firescale / firestain on silver. The Studio Journal: October 2008
http://seriesproduction.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 26, 2008. Inspired by Gilbert Riedelbauch’s experimentation with Ponoko – the on-line manufacturing service that lets you make and sell your ideas – I have a small project in mind that is just right for laser cutting in plywood. When I get it back I will put up a picture of it, but in the meantime I will keep looking at the progress bar in the ‘my factory’ section of ‘my ponoko’. The Studio Journal: Exposure Compensation Button.
http://seriesproduction.blogspot.com/2008/10/exposure-compensation-button.html
Monday, October 13, 2008. Lets start by admitting I am not a photographer but I am keen to be able to take a satisfactory image of my work, both finished and work-in-progress. To this end I purchased a couple of flash units and when I was learning to use them I was given an excellent tip. So this is mostly a reminder to me to use the exposure compensation button. The Studio Journal: Tool Steel
http://seriesproduction.blogspot.com/2008/10/tool-steel.html
Sunday, October 12, 2008. My Tool Steel arrived during the week overnight from Adelaide no less! I have ordered 2.0 mm and 1/16th ground stock to test out some blanking die ideas. The 20 mm needs to be heat-treated. Actually they both need heat treatment to be used as pancake dies, but the 2.0 mm is going to be wire cut (EDM) which means that it can be hardened prior to wire cutting. It will be a good idea to drill the hole for the wire before hardening! July 16, 2015 at 3:42 AM. View my complete profile.

July 26, 2009 in Blog. It is a good idea to make use of the Categories function on WordPress. Categories can be as useful to you as they are to your readers. Think of categories like an overarching filing system which can help you to remember what your posts were about and. Where will you see the categories? How do you make categories? From your dashboard you can click on ‘Categories’ in ‘Right Now’ (top centre of interface) and you will be taken directly to the ‘Categories&...The hierarchy of categories:.

Thursday, August 28, 2008. Enter the ‘Hartmetall-Spiralbohrer’. I am using some Carbide Twist-drills (Busch 203HM) to see if they work better than ‘ordinary’ twist-drills for use with stainless steel. These drills are made by the German manufacturer Busch who probably supply the majority of jewelers with tool steel twist-drills and burs. http:/ www.busch.eu. Free-hand 5,000 – 9,000 r.pm. Drill press 8,000 – 14,000 r.pm. Busch also suggest to,. Center punch where you want to drill. So how good are they?
