Shoppin in Paris: Rue Saint Louis en l'Ile (4th) or 154 Rue du Temple (3rd)?
http://shoppin-in-paris.blogspot.com/2012/04/rue-saint-louis-en-lile-4th-or-154-rue.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Rue Saint Louis en l'Ile (4th) or 154 Rue du Temple (3rd)? Promise, last question for me regarding location. Locals.which would you personally choose? I%26#39;m not a local, but without hesitation I%26#39;d pick the rue St-Louis-en-l%26#39;Ile, all other things being equal. It is right in the middle of the Ile St. Louis, as filled with charm as almost any street in Paris, and very central to everything. I second Irish%26#39;s recommendation. Just a note of thanks to everyone fo...

Shoppin in Paris: Hotel Muguet
http://shoppin-in-paris.blogspot.com/2012/04/hotel-muguet.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Planning our first trip to Paris in August and having read forums will book at the Hotel Muguet. Have been told no rooms available with views of Eiffel Tower left. Is there another %26quot;good%26quot; room to ask if available or alternatively a %26quot;bad%26quot; one to avoid or are they all okay? Also is there a lift (elevator) at the hotel. Thanks for any assistance available. If you are really looking for rooms with view the Eiffel Tower. Why don%26#39;t you try the Ho...

France trip: London to Paris
http://france-trip2012.blogspot.com/2012/04/london-to-paris.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Any suggestions as to getting to Paris from London? I am studying in the UK and have friends coming to visit. We%26#39;d like to travel to Paris but we are on a limited budget and want to see as much as possible. We have been invited to visit friends in Germany and Poland also. I don%26#39;t have time to do much investigating. YOu have 2 options, either take the train (eurostar.com) or fly (Easyjet.com). 26quot;40 minutes to get to the airport%26quot; is what I meant. Anyone ha...

France trip: rue cler area hotel or st. germain area apartment?
http://france-trip2012.blogspot.com/2012/04/rue-cler-area-hotel-or-st-germain-area.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Rue cler area hotel or st. germain area apartment? I stayed at the Hotel Prince near Rue Cler in November. I think it is a wonderful neighborhood and I really liked the hotel. There are a variety of reasonably priced restaurants and groceries for picnic supplies, from the very basic to gourmet. It is also very convenient for getting to all the tourist sites. The Rue Cler is two blocks long, closed off to vechicle traffic. La Motte Picquet where you will find some nice shops.

France trip: disneyland paris.
http://france-trip2012.blogspot.com/2012/04/disneyland-paris.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. I%26#39;m off to disneyland paris in february.there will be four of us. IMHO it%26#39;ll always be more expensive to take a taxi than a train. You%26#39;re paying for the extra confort. A shuttle will set you back about 100euro though for a family for 4. It%26#39;s your choice is you really want to pay that much. I%26#39;m sure someone will be around later with better info :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Blue Van or Paris Shuttle? Anyone have experience . Where to buy r...

I am going to Paris for 4 nights over Valentine%26#39;s W/e and I am intending to propose to him whilst we are out on Valentines Night,. Can anyone give me some nice romantic areas, ideas, estaurants near my hotel? After reading the reviews for every hotel on this site! It%26#39;s just so great to get to read about real experiences, instead of some glamourised %26#39;puff%26#39; peice in the brochure. Under a bridge over the Se...

France trip: Crowds and lines in February
http://france-trip2012.blogspot.com/2012/04/crowds-and-lines-in-february.html
Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Crowds and lines in February. Are the crowds much less in February? How about the lines at the Louvre? It%26#39;s winter and hear that Paris is not too crowded during this time of the year. Someone I know visited Paris in Nov 2002 (also winter time) and told me that there were no lines at all at the Louvre. What should I expect? No lines at the Lourve last Sunday at about 3pm. Oh what a relief! Thanks for the info. I will be leaving for Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam next w...

Shoppin in Paris: reply to seen~it:food in France
http://shoppin-in-paris.blogspot.com/2012/04/reply-to-seenitfood-in-france.html
Thursday, April 19, 2012. Reply to seen it:food in France. Seen it - thanks for the compliment! As for France, I lived and studied in the Loire valley for a short time - so love that area. The university restaurant at Tours did wonderful meals (I don%26#39;t know what it%26#39;s like nowadays) - students didn%26#39;t starve! My experiences of the French in the UK have been much friendlier! They are very private people, and the Parisiens are a race apart. Once again, the fresh food market is where you mus...

Shoppin in Paris: Is Versailles very crowded?
http://shoppin-in-paris.blogspot.com/2012/04/is-versailles-very-crowded.html
Thursday, April 19, 2012. Is Versailles very crowded? I am interested to see it but it%26#39;s frustrating to spend a lot of time in queues during such a short trip like mine, so what do you think? ON a Tuesday if you arrive early you should be allright, make sure you get there before the appartments open. Or you can buy a day-pass if you want to spend the whole day there. It is certainly worth it! You seem to know the place reasonably well! I really, really want to see it properly and I hate crowds.
