Whitley Bay is famous for its nightlife, but it is also a coastal town with a nice beach to spend the day walking or just sitting on the sand enjoying the sun. Although the famous Spanish City fairground has now closed, a fairground does return to Whitley Bay on bank holiday weekends and easter and summer holidays, at The Links seafront park.
