Where there were 2,000 athletes before. I know what it is like...

INANE RAMBLINGS OF A CLUTTERED MIND. Number 1 on the plate, number 1 in your hearts. Is this not fun? Thursday, January 16, 2014. This is like being a Latin Major in college. Worthless in the modern era. Four years out in the wilderness, and then he returns from his literary walkabout. Is he wiser, probably not. Has he tamed down his opinions, I doubt it. He to the B. True Stories from a 'HO' in Port Matilda - cycling capital of Pennsyl-tucky! Wednesday, July 29, 2009. What biking means to me. So I've been thinking about all the great experiences over the past few years and what my bike has meant to me. So forgive the intraspective nature of this post, I'm still the jackass/badass/asshole you know and love. My vacation is a week of riding! 4) Its not about the bike, is it? 5) Biking is my freedom. Do I really have to explain the grin I have when riding? Whether it is ...

True Stories from a 'HO' in Port Matilda - cycling capital of Pennsyl-tucky! Friday, November 23, 2007. Good stuff is growing at Raystown Lake near my hometown of Huntingdon (the 'dun). A consortium of groups is helping build a 30 mile network of trails. We flagged the corridors last winter and now we have an IMBA crew building trails there for the next month or so. We had our first (of many) trail days there. Here's Jimbo looking strangely at home while overseeing some bench work. And they are happy!

True Stories from a 'HO' in Port Matilda - cycling capital of Pennsyl-tucky! Thursday, October 18, 2007. IRON CROSS V REPORT. A very weird day.I started dfl in the field and was picking my way forward for the first 15 miles. Right before cp1 a deer came down the embankment and nearly crashed me. This would set the stage for a weird race day. At the finish I executed a brilliant dismount/remount through the barriers and had survived my first Iron Cross! Saturday AM Road Rides. But I'm not sure about every...

True Stories from a 'HO' in Port Matilda - cycling capital of Pennsyl-tucky! Thursday, August 27, 2009. Coming soon. So many of us now ride 'cross (cx) bike but have never raced. It really is a world apart, an alternate reality from road or mountain. Weirder than singlespeeds even. Cross is Hard. Lungs searing survive that initial sprint, hold your place, watch that squeeze, dont wreck me you F* k! The Lhorba listserv sent an article last week about a guy who went to ride some local trails at a park whil...

True Stories from a 'HO' in Port Matilda - cycling capital of Pennsyl-tucky! Friday, May 30, 2008. Wednesday night rides have been sparsely attended. But that changed as we had Erik L, Pontzer, Chris, Bob Rad(rad bob), Big Mike, Matt D., and an old timer named Art who reminded me of Earnest Hemingway! 2 regulars - Kberg and Nick were absent as well as Erik (the younger). The route was 3 bridges, Lonberger, Tus-ex-dos, Ridge, Tap, then down Camp. Many Bridges to Cross. Breaking the Law, Breaking the Law.
