When I found out that her horse, Vannity, was aging and not well I knew this was going to be an important session for their family history on multiple levels. Here are a few images from the session. At the closed end of their barn we opened the large barn door to create this great directional light provided by the sunless open sky. Tuesday, March 22, 2011. All of that works perfectly when you are at home, but in the pet store there are people and other dogs and you have to be heard across the room! I guess I was nervous because it took Gadget longer than usual to calm down in the store, but we made it through testing with flying colors and she got her diploma! Wednesday, September 15, 2010. You Can Lead A Horse To Water…. I had the pleasure of photographing Jasmine and her Paint horse, Cadberry. He is a gorgeous black and white horse who reminded me of an antique carrousel horse. There was a regal quality about his every movement until… we reached the lawn! Less regal was his penchant for snacking on the lawn every time I asked Jasmine to lean forward to hug his neck. Sometimes, you can’t reason with a 1000 lb horse when he wants a snack.
