The Visual Legacy Foundation was founded in 2006 for the production of A Resistible Force -. When Man Meets the Sea, a book about age-old breakwaters on the south-western coast of the Netherlands. In November 2005, inspired by the author Pauline van Lynden’s research and attention, the Province of Zeeland decided to add these breakwaters to its list of protected cultural heritage. A Resistible Force was awarded the Zeeland Book Prize in 2008 and has become a collector’s item.

Donkere Palissaden van de fotografe Pauline van Lynden. In november 2007 is Donkere Palissaden. Uitgegeven door de Stichting Visual Legacy. De Van Lyndens hebben oude banden met Zeeland en Veere. Zo stond eind achttiende eeuw op het strand vóór kasteel Westhove het ‘Van Lyndenshoofd’. Een eeuw later was Rudolf Willem van Lynden commissaris des Konings in Zeeland en diens kleinzoon maakte later deel uit van het bestuur van de Polder Walcheren. Donkere Palissaden.
