WIP 01: Texturing MegaPhone. On December 19, 2011. The bump is clearly visible in the reflection, less visible (but even more life-like) in the transition from shadow to light. The UV map is slightly modified in photo-editing software GIMP. Changing its colour in modo is possible, but it takes a bit longer to achieve the same result. The burned-in text. The text is made in GIMP and based on the text I could see in the movie. 8230; I wish I was only that naive. A weird shot - the MegaPhone is actually wid...

WIP 01: Adding the scene |

WIP 01: Adding the scene. On January 22, 2012. Before making the final shots and a possible small movie, a scenery is necessary. We can’t leave the object floating in mid air, can we? Studying the original movie taught that the object is standing on some kind of pedestal. Adding a cylinder below the MegaPhone did the trick. Aligning the center of the MegaPhone with the center of the cylinder could be useful in the future, so it’s best to pay attention to that. The other half of the cylinder, cut in two a...

WIP 01: Finetuning MegaPhone |

WIP 01: Finetuning MegaPhone. On December 5, 2011. To finetune the shell, I had to thicken it and I rounded the mouth and edges of the porcelain. It has a less fragile and softer look now. Reflection shading clearly and immediately shows mistakes in the model. Seems pretty good to me. It still needs this 'handmade feel'-look, so it doesn't need to be in perfect shape. Detail of the back part, subdivided. This model will still look fine when hard surface subd'ed because it exists out of quads. You are com...
