There is so much going on and blooming right now- it is such a fun time of year and the weather these past few days! Oh my gosh- LOVE IT. The Peruvian Cereus never cease to amaze and wow me - this particular day I guess cause it was cloudy this weekend, it stayed open a lot longer than normal which was fine by me! The Black Eyed Susan has such a pretty happy bloom.

Just about everything is blooming away and the bees could not be happier. The succulent house is packed with Echeveria, Kalanchoes, Sedum and Aloes almost all exploding with blooms enjoying the spring weather. The Red Buds are buzzing with bees - do you see them? When you walk the Red Buds you can hear the bees hard at work- it sounds like the trees are buzzing.

This month we visited the International Rose Test Garden. In Portland, Oregon. It was beautiful. Course, I love roses, so I am a little biased but it was amazing. To escape the muddy trails of April, we drove an hour south to the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. Laudholm Beach is open to the public along with several acres of trails through the wetlands. There are loose rocks to cross and tidal pools to hop so hiking boots are prudent. It's well worth it for the calm ocean vista, only a quarter hour drive from busy Kennebunkport. Enjoy the spring air!

Saturday, June 30, 2012. Here Comes the Sun. Flower. The little green bud opened to reveal its yellow glory. I am not sure where the seed for this plant blew in from, but it seems very happy with its new home. Of course, it chose the wrong side of the garden. the pink side.
