Whether or not the laundry is folded. Jan 7, 2014. Picture, say, a scarlet ibis alighting on your dining room table. The flabbergasted wonderment you’d feel is roughly akin to my reaction when an email from Jared Flood appeared in my inbox one utterly normal November day. My first thought was this:. That’s it. The Nigerian spammers have found my weakness. I’d better let Brooklyn Tweed know their corporate email has been hacked. What do you do with it now that it’s here? Should you feed it? Sarah, how utt...

dull roar: Heartbreaker Beret
http://www.dull-roar.com/2011/01/heartbreaker-beret.html
Saturday, January 8, 2011. It's a little early for thinking about Valentine's Day, but I'll offer up this little ditty now anyway (plenty of time to knit it for the occasion, I suppose :-) ). Heartbreaker is an easy brioche beret, which uses coordinating ribbed decreases to avoid the messiness of decreasing in brioche and shows off the completely gorgeous, rich luminescence of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino (or whatever yarn you choose to use- pick something luscious though, ok? Plus, it's warm and squooshy!

Sunday, January 25, 2015. Doomsday Knits - One Year In. Wowza, I can't believe Doomsday Knits. Has been out for a year (a little more, actually - I'm slow with the blog posts! I thought it'd be fun to take this opportunity to showcase some of the awesome FOs that have come from the book, courtesy of various righteous Ravellers! Is cute as can be in a hot pink Alternating Current. And matching modified Varia. Got cozy tootsies in her Long Road Ahead. Made a gorgeous bulkier version of Ditch the Tech.

dull roar: Tool Time!
http://www.dull-roar.com/2015/02/tool-time.html
Sunday, February 1, 2015. I am super excited to be featured on the limited edition February Knitters Tool Tins from The Sexy Knitter! Those are my designs! A few years ago, Sarah (the Sexy Knitter herself) and I bunked together at TNNA, a big industry trade show that happens in Columbus every year. She gave me one of her tool tins. So what do you get in one of these lovely tins? A nice flexible tape measure. A stitch holder, for obvious purposes. A double-ended mini crochet hook. This is one of the m...

http://www.dull-roar.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 26, 2015. Oh hi there, blog! I've been simply awful about updating you. But I promise I have been busy back here, chugging away behind the scenes on big future projects, and a few smaller ones as well- I put out three hats over the last few weeks! First there was Apex. A stocking cap made extra special by the amazing gradient yarn from Twisted Fiber Arts. A simply-textured hat designed to show off the gorgeous hand-dyed Mecha yarn from Malabrigo (and a gift for my little sister, Emma.).
