February 13, 2016. I may have run my first parkrun in 2011 but I have come late to the delights of parkrun tourism, and parkrun generally. Only recently have I preferred the anticipation of a new parkrun event (or even my locals) to a lie in. Must be getting old, or hooked. Maybe both. At the run briefing, just before they explained the course, they mentioned they were missing a tail runner and was anyone willing. I found myself volunteering. (I have been supposed to run-walk the past two parkrun...In a ...

January 31, 2015. Another Janathon is over. Rather too quickly as usual making me feel I’m still in catch up mode. I haven’t run or exercised as much as other years but have hopefully re-started some good habits which I can build on and continue rather than going for broke and spending February recovering. This week I’ve run a bit less due to some mild niggles in my hamstrings and piriformis which feel worse when it’s very cold so I stuck to alternate days exercising. January 28, 2015. Tag Archives: near miss. June 12, 2015. Juneathon 12/30 and a cyclist rant. A BMF class, 2.8 miles run, plus 5.3 miles cycling there and back including a close encounter with a 52 bus that didn’t respect the priority of a ‘vehicle’ (me) already on the roundabout! Londin cyclist rant over. Other than that I intended to take some photographs today for my blog because many other Juneathon bloggers have taken some beautiful photographs of their runs, walks and rides and mine feels a bit bland. June 30, 2015. Juneathon ends with all the problems of being a Juneathoner, BMFer, runner and some time cyclist. Blog for previous days 27 and 28 etc etc on the way, honest). Anyway, this evening I had to get scrubbed up and appear, albeit brefly, in a respectable state for a reception at school before the sixth form leavers ball (schools way of reducing pre-loading by including the parents at the start) Just for an hour. Blogs from last weekend and Juneathon round up to follow…. June 25, 2015. I admitte...

January 18, 2016. I’m bored now. The novelty of my enforced change in exercise routine, because I can’t run, has worn off. I’ve been good for a whole week. I’ve been to Physio, I’ve done all my physio exercises and a few more, I’ve cycled lots (and met people for coffees so the kcal consumed exceeded the kcal burned in some rides – oops! And I’ve not run. But I really want to go to BMF, train for my half marathon, run some more parkruns towards my 50th and run my 25th different parkrun venue. Cycled to t...

https://fairweatherrunner.co.uk/2015/06/14/juneathon-day-14
June 14, 2015. Two week runstreak done. My running mojo has sufficiently returned to allow me to get out the door and run on a Sunday before noon when I’m not “racing”. Today I kept an open mind and just plodded out the door. It got easier and more enjoyable as I went. I took my phone and meant to stop and take lots of photos but only remembered once when I took the one above in Kensington Gardens. Juneathon day 14. 6 miles run. Week 2. 23.1 miles run 10.4 cycked. 3 thoughts on “ Juneathon day 14. You ar...

June 16, 2015. Juneathon days 15 and 16 I have had to take a Sabbatical. My eldest’s A’levels have reached the final peak week and for the first time in his academic life he’s a bit stressed. I’m anxious for him too. An exam didn’t go well on Monday and he’s feeling he’s cocked up all his A’levels and should have done more work earlier. Mothers are not allowed to say ‘I told you so’. I’ve not sat still! But I have a plan. 2 thoughts on “ Sabbatical. June 17, 2015 at 9:46 pm. June 25, 2015 at 9:19 pm.

A mile with Ed. June 25, 2015. A mile with my 16 year old son was all it took to get me motivated to run this evening. I admitted around 5pm that a cold glass of wine was far preferable to a run around the block and I was thinking about wimping out. He didn’t accept that, and for some reason (a post GCSE need for a little exercise, or a must get out the house today feeling? A good evenings running. Thanks Ed. 1 mile with Ed plus. 31 miles around the block. One thought on “ A mile with Ed. Yep, my teenage...
