Composition Festival Call for Compositions. VMEA Composition Festival Mail-In Application Form. Grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and students with documented disabilities, K-12. Compositions must not exceed five (5) minutes in duration. Compositions may be for a solo instrument or voice, for an ensemble of instruments and/or voices, or electronic. Blue Ribbon Award Application. Blue Ribbon Award Medals may be ordered from the Bale Company. Superior performance as evidenced by the district festival rating from each of the top performing groups of each ensemble course taught at the school (band, choir, and orchestra). All schools must complete the Online Declaration Form which designates the top performing group of the genre. This must be one of the groups performing the highest grade of literature. Those received after this date will not be eligible.
