Orygone: September 2008
http://orygone.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
The blog of getting gone from Oregon. The days go by. The feelings of dread and mild panic that lay within the last post, of course mellowed in a day or two, but the song remains the same. We made a timeline (May 31st, when our lease ends) and we just have to spend the intervening months getting our ducks in a row! I sent the wife some pictures from our last trip to Vermont, but I don't think it cheered her up any. Just a bit too ready to go! The view from the front porch of the house. Just be ruined and...

Orygone: January 2009
http://orygone.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
The blog of getting gone from Oregon. A not so permanent vacation after all. On the positive side, this is the step that I needed to really feel that I have moved. To actually have to deal with getting to work and getting established should help do away with the peaceful, easy feeling of no time constraints or responsibilties I've had this last month. It's made the move feel somewhat unreal and I'm ready to get grounded in this new reality. Lows 10 to 16 below. Highs 0 to 5 below, lows 15 to 25 below zero.

Orygone: A new dawn
http://orygone.blogspot.com/2009/02/new-dawn.html
The blog of getting gone from Oregon. Today marks Caitlin's first day at work! As she is working in Montpelier (about 40 miles east) and she has to be at work at 7:30, we are starting a few new ways today. Monday through Thursday I will (for the time being at least) be getting a ride to work from the in-law's who will then be watching Elinor from 7:30 until 5:30. Today is also the first day that Elinor has worn Chuck Taylor's! There are so many good ones in Montpelier. And hey.where are you working?

Orygone: Snowed...
http://orygone.blogspot.com/2009/01/snowed.html
The blog of getting gone from Oregon. Well well well. Yesterday my little brother-in-law and I took a snowshoe trip around the property that we're staying on. It was really quite nice, and I found some parts I hadn't know about before, including a really nice and snowy meadow. I didn't take any pictures, but I'm sure that Caitlin and I will set out that way soon and I'll be sure to get some that time. I did get some pictures of the house and such. Here is that front view, without the trees. This blog is ...

Orygone: February 2009

The blog of getting gone from Oregon. Inside the Kingdom, and out. Startlingly, yesterday it was above 40 degrees most of the day! The snow on our front porch (and the furniture therein) had melted away! I do look forward to using the porch. Yesterday I actually contacted a Realtor about looking at some houses in town! It will be nice to have basically the same workweek and shifts as Caitlin and being able to drive to and from work with her! We liked it there. About the same size as the rest of these...

The blog of getting gone from Oregon. The whole family took a trip down the hill to the post office today and so I finally got around to taking some few pictures of our little village, as it is a very pleasant day outside. Here is the village of East St Johnsbury as seen from our road:. Caitlin and Elinor approaching the bridge across the Moose River:. The village from right across the bridge:. The Moose River, viewed from the bridge:. Honestly, I can't believe I live here! Now that's a village! Farms No...

The blog of getting gone from Oregon. Another Friday. I am still, even though I be in Vermont, quite the procrastinator. I was really looking forward to this weekend, just for its own sake and also to do those darn tax things that I always put off. But now I can't get around to anything except for hanging out with Elinor and wishing that we had some decaf around here! Speaking of Elinor, here she is. February 20, 2009 at 11:25 AM. You are breaking a fundamental law of blogging in saying you got a new job...

The blog of getting gone from Oregon. Oh, what a night. It all seems like too much preperation for me. I got down to the annoying stuff to pack and then this evening my sister Jennifer spent hours helping me box and package stuff up. Until we ran out of boxes. That help was a great relief. And I think it puts me in a reasonably good position for tomorrow which is the day that everything needs to be done. Yep Thank you, Shepard's! It actually was quite tasty. The one true Voodoo Donut. The family flew out...
