How the Portland Trail Blazers can be a .500 team | A Substitute for War
https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2015/08/13/how-the-portland-trail-blazers-can-be-a-500-team
A Substitute for War. How the Portland Trail Blazers can be a .500 team. Leave a comment ». The Portland Trail Blazers had what looked to be a devastating offseason. They lost 4 of 5 starters in Lamarcus Aldridge, Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum and Robin Lopez, along with Arron Afflalo. A 50 win core has been stripped down to Damian Lillard and spare parts. Likewise what I see with the Blazers is a lot of solid defenders, spacers or scorers that help this team surprise next year. Enter your comment here.

A Substitute for War. 2015 NBA Draft rankings! Leave a comment ». Here are my ratings for the 2015 draft. Note, the start of this post is going to be a whole lot of writing and explaining. If you just want to see the big board, scroll down until you find them. 8211; Rank their talent level using my system I have developed the last several years ( Traditional talent grading model). I split the player’s talent level into 3 categories:. Physical impact/motion talent level. Skill impact talent level. The bes...

Deconstructing a myth: Vince Carter having “Michael Jordan potential” | A Substitute for War
https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2011/11/05/deconstructing-a-myth-vince-carter-having-michael-jordan-potential
A Substitute for War. Deconstructing a myth: Vince Carter having “Michael Jordan potential”. If you’re like me, you like to rag on both Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady for the drive they didn’t have. Both had a tremendous mix of athleticism, size and skill and a frustrating ambivalence about their legacy, winning and team’s success. The second point I’d make is that when criticizing Vince Carter’s work ethic, it’s worth it to ask If Vince worked on his game harder, what could he have added? Yes When a pla...

trenton takes: November 2010
http://trentontakes.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 24, 2010. And yet, his acting is still better in Belly. Given that he was in Hawaii to shoot this scene, is it safe to assume he also ended up on the MBDTF. Cutting room floor, and we'll hear that tune in the coming weeks? Sunday, November 14, 2010. Trying my best to find my way. I think the reason I couldn't get into Graduation. As good as this thing is, I still don't think Kid CuDi needs to be on here at all. And does Alicia Keys only moan and yell now? Saturday, November 6, 2010.

The Hornets-Clippers Lance Stephenson trade confuses me | A Substitute for War
https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2015/06/17/the-hornets-clippers-lance-stephenson-trade-confuses-me
A Substitute for War. The Hornets-Clippers Lance Stephenson trade confuses me. Leave a comment ». The Clippers and Hornets made a trade to send Lance Stephenson to L.A. for Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes. On the surface the reasoning is straight forward. The Clippers needed athletic talent on the wing and the Hornets needed to get rid of Lance Stephenson who had been a cancer for them. Why would the Clippers just treat Matt Barnes like pointless salary filler? June 17, 2015 at 10:29 pm. Error: Twitter did...

A Substitute for War. Should the Warriors resign Harrison Barnes? Leave a comment ». June 10, 2016 at 11:50 am. Tagged with free agency 2016. Drafting Skal Labissiere in the lottery is (probably) a bad idea. Leave a comment ». After being ranked #1 over Ben Simmons by Draftexpress before the season, Skal’s season went as badly as it could but based on his athleticism, length and potential to shoot has maintained enough pedigree to be projected as a fringe top 10 pick. I’m not buying it. Kevin Durant R...

A Substitute for War. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ summer and the Tristan Thompson problem. Leave a comment ». Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters, and Kyrie Irving (Photo credit: Erik Daniel Drost). A big name on the market this summer is PF Josh Smith. Paul Millsap is just behind him in impact. Pau Gasol may also hit the market, if as I expect the Lakers choose to dump his contract instead of amnestying Kobe, if committed to saving the up to 80 million in luxury tax payment. The case for Trey Burke over Dante Exum | A Substitute for War
https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2015/08/01/the-case-for-trey-burke-over-dante-exum
A Substitute for War. The case for Trey Burke over Dante Exum. Leave a comment ». The Utah Jazz are building a powerhouse. The Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert frontcourt is drool worthy with a scoring wing player and a frontcourt who plays great defense and finishes efficiently. To say many more are on the Exum bandwagon as the Jazz’s future at PG than Burke’s is an understatement. At this point Trey Burke island is down to me and Wilson the volleyball. Kobe Bryant: the most overrated defender imaginable | A Substitute for War
https://asubstituteforwar.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/kobe-bryant-the-most-overrated-defender-imaginable
A Substitute for War. Kobe Bryant: the most overrated defender imaginable. Alright, the 2010-11 NBA All-Defensive Team. And with Kobe Bryant. Receives his NBA record. 9th 1st Team award by that voting body. Let me tell you a story, about a player who has strong overall impact, great team success, and a kickass narrative. That says he always gives 110% on both ends of the court when it’s quite clear that he let’s his defense slide a large chunk of the time. History whose defense has been this overrated.
