Experiments in refactored perception. The Chinese Compressibility Parable. July 30, 2015. I read the story somewhere as a kid and can’t recall the source now (perhaps one of you can help me). It goes something like this. There was once a Chinese emperor who wanted to know about everything that had ever happened. This was before Wikipedia, so he instructed his court scholars to go write it all down so he could read it. The scholars toiled for 10 years, and returned with a caravan of 20 camels. Skipping li...

La pubblicità è l'anima. Mi sono aggregato all’ Aggregator. E’ vero, l’ Aggregator. Richiede un impegno ulteriore. Da un lato, è molto gratificante.

May 10, 2013. Bike lanes led to 49% increase in retail sales. From the Boing Boing Shop. Back in November 2012, the New York Department of Transportation released a report called Measuring the Street: New Metrics for the 21st Century. Which had some compelling figures on the way that local business benefits from bike-lanes, for the fairly obvious reason that cyclists find it easy to stop and shop, as compared to drivers, who are more likely to continue on to a mall with a big parking lot, or shop online.

Is Windows Live Messenger Your Friend? | Chris Pirillo

My Social Video Event. Is Windows Live Messenger Your Friend? June 20, 2006. Sean Carver is a rock star. Cleaner, more efficient UI. I’m still not going to switch from Trillian 2.0, but I’m not immediately turned off by Windows Live Messenger’s interface. It’s still a bit laden with oversights, but not so many that it’s painful to use. Advertisement overkill. Seriously, can’t I just pay to remove all ads from all Windows Live / MSN services? That, and the Games tab is throwing back a JavaScript error....
