No More Rock Stars | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2013/10/31/no-more-rock-stars
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. No More Rock Stars. Cross posted from my other blog.). Remember the Ashlee Simpson Saturday Night Live debacle? Let me refresh your memory: http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Well, as long as they look good doing it, we’re pretty OK with it; at least we seem to be OK with it, since we keep watching, listening, and buying the music. Back to Ashlee. (Or substitute Milli Vanilli if you’d prefer. Same idea, different generation.) We knew. Now, before I p...

Jump ahead five years | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2010/09/28/jump-ahead-five-years
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. Jump ahead five years. Just a quick share today. I’ve always been a big fan of getting my subjects in the air, whether it’s jumping on a bed, a trampoline, jumping off something, anything that gets them airborne. In the case of these girls, who I first photographed five years ago, no launch assistance is required. So here they are, then…. Bad scan, good jump. Laquo; Oh, the anticipation. Travelin’, Man. Dog Days | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2010/08/23/dog-days
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. Since I’ve got a brand new puppy, and since the dog days of summer are still having their way with us here in Denver, I thought I’d share some of my favorite people-and-their-pet images. I really enjoy including Rover and Kitty in family shoots. Our lives wouldn’t be complete without them, and neither is a portrait session. I could post this stuff all day long, but I’ll try to limit myself. Tully, my newest canine child. Gus and his girl. You ar...

Oh, the anticipation. | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2010/09/12/oh-the-anticipation
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. Oh, the anticipation. As I sit on a pleasant Sunday morning watching football and waiting for a giant plate of nachos to appear, it seems a good time to talk about anticipation. Moment, because I would only get one shot at it. The keen sense of anticipation also means a greater ability to create a bond with your subjects. How? Here are a few examples from my “Life Backstage” project, where the low light conditions make anticipation e...Date : Se...

Randomness: O'Neal Lake
http://sscherbinski.blogspot.com/2014/12/oneal-lake.html
Random mutterings to an uncaring world. Monday, December 1, 2014. O'Neal Lake was a man made lake on the southern end of Wilderness Park in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Formed by damming a small stream, it was a place for canoeing, wildlife and especially birding. It was a popular migrating bird stop and a Loon nesting area. Labels: Black and White. Randomness: Link Roundup
http://sscherbinski.blogspot.com/2013/06/link-roundup.html
Random mutterings to an uncaring world. Monday, June 3, 2013. I haven't done one of these for a while, so I thought it might by time. That is my faithful photo assistant above. She hasn't got much praise here lately, so I thought it might be time. It turns out this past Sunday was World Backup Day. I didn't know that we needed such a day, but any way to remind people to back up their work is good. This is specific to the Mac, but the advice is good for anyone. World Backup Day from TUAW. Randomness: An excuse (again)
http://sscherbinski.blogspot.com/2013/06/an-excuse-again.html
Random mutterings to an uncaring world. Sunday, June 9, 2013. Sorry I haven't been on here for a while. Even the last post was started in April and just posted, as you can probably tell. Part of the problem is that I've changed my photographic workflow, and I don't have anything to post when I have the time to write. The other problem is I've been busy. I'll get some photos up this week. Plus I will be up north in a week, so I'm sure you'll see something then. West Michigan Photography Collective.

Random mutterings to an uncaring world. Tuesday, December 25, 2012. As Christmas winds down for another year, I thought I would take a moment to hope that you had as wonderful a day as I did. It was a day of family and friends, and cooking. Lots of cooking, with a dash of photography thrown in. Hopefully you got lots of photography gifts, and maybe you gave a few too. Links to this post. Thursday, December 6, 2012. Segue - RIP Dave Brubeck. I won't have any more chances. He passed away yesterday, 1 d...

Well, it has been some time, hasn’t it? | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2013/10/15/well-it-has-been-some-time-hasnt-it
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. Well, it has been some time, hasn’t it? I’ve been away…three-and-a-half years? Absent from here and, for the most part from portraiture, but growing and evolving and learning a whole lot about life and people and art. And teaching. Lots of teaching, in the virtual world, but also a few workshops in the states, a few in the UK, and a great little trip to Iceland. (Have you ever been to Iceland? Drop everything and go.). Will I stay on this blog?

Portraits in the UK | PhotoDino
https://photodino.wordpress.com/2010/08/17/portraits-in-the-uk
A film addicted photographer who doesn't hate digital folk. Portraits in the UK. I’m happy to announce that I will be in London, UK in early October and am available for a very few portrait sessions while I’m there. I’ll be arriving around the 1st and leaving the 10th. Sessions done in this time frame will be at my regular Denver rates, with no travel or additional fees applied. This shot has nothing to do with the UK. Just an old favorite I'd forgotten about. Laquo; Plan to fail, please. You are comment...
