Seeking out undiscovered tomes and sharing these overlooked gems from (predominantly) fantasy and sci-fi genres. I review E-books by Indie authors that haven't gotten the recognition they deserve. Monday, October 27, 2014. Ryan McSwain's Monsters All the Way Down Makes You Question Everything. Imagine being accused of serial murders. The veracity of your own knowledge. So what's it about?

Enough Is Enough - Ceci N'est Pas Une Blog
http://fastfwd.livejournal.com/628089.html
Ceci Nest Pas Une Blog. Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense. Aug 14th, 2012 at 12:13 PM. I've just read this post. By a lovely woman who went out thinking she would have a pleasant evening and found herself on the receiving end of some drive-by bullying. I swear. Women are always getting this kind of sh! T if you're fat, you have to hear how they feel about it and if you're good-looking, you have to hear how they feel about that. If they're on foot, take their photo anyway...

Monday Notes - Nick Mamatas

Monday Notes - Nick Mamatas. Aug 10th, 2015 09:10 am. In a very unusual turn of events, someone I voted for once Bernie Sanders is in the news. I will not be voting for him now as he has joined the Democratic Party. Sanders has always had problems as the Vermont's socialist party, Liberty Union, will tell you. Anyway, Sanders made a good move he had his staff write this pretty good page, with plenty of SEO-bait, on racial justice. Of course, adding copy to a web page is one thing, actually doing somethin...

What's Happening - Nick Mamatas. Jul 14th, 2015 08:26 am. Of all places, and a Forbes. Columnist of all people has it right, I think: The Eurozone leadership stopped short of sending tanks onto the streets of Athens, but who needs tanks when you control a country’s banks? The only chance for sovereignty without fascism now is Tsipras out and SYRIZA's left flank tanking over, rejecting everything, and biting the bullet of Grexit on its terms. Which includes my novelette "We Never Sleep" is out today.

The Knick - Audience of Strangers
http://torrain.livejournal.com/543551.html
Sep 6th, 2014 at 10:49 PM. We have begun watching The Knick. I confess I went in mildly suspicious; I remembered. S mentioning a show set in 19thC New York that had a noticeable lack of working-class women who weren't prostitutes. That was a couple of years ago, and since then I've honestly noticed that that's a fairly common thing with period shows. How did the first episode open? Close-up of the shoes of the protagonist, past which we can see a couple of prostitutes. This post has been crossposted.
