I so...

Bell, Book and Candle: What the heck are you doing?
http://gracebourne.blogspot.com/2012/07/what-heck-are-you-doing.html
Monday, July 2, 2012. What the heck are you doing? I've been spending a little less time at the metalsmithing bench lately. I had a great idea for a project - still jewellery, still opulent in the typical "Gracebourne" style - but made out of something softer, something more pliable and delightfully tactile - leather! Everything starts with a sketch. Now, everything begins with a sketch in the notebook and a clear idea of where I want to go and how to get there. Hard to believe this came from my sketch!

About the studio behind hartleystudio. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Susan and Jason's rings, step by step part 1. Congratulations to Susan and Jason! This process starts with a tube of wax. The tube is placed in the chuck and tightened gently. This was actually a process of trial and error. We had one not tight enough and too long so it broke. Once the tube is tightened in the chuck, the first step is to bore out the inside to the correct ring size. Susan is a 6 1/4, which is .658". Placed in order to cut cl...

Little Gypsum: February 2010
http://littlegypsum.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 28, 2010. Things you cannot do while nursing a flesh wound. 1 Your favorite yoga pose. 2 Dishes. (no, seriously, fantastic.). Labels: flesh wound owie shit. Twenty things (for the burnt out and under-inspired). New ideas build off old ones. Current ideas lead to new ones, working out one design leads to a better one. Usually. Occasionally, it doesn't, and it's easy for the panic mentioned up-post to set in. You know a new idea will come, but when? Make things. It is painful not to. It on...

Monday, May 3, 2010. Blog Carnival 5/3/10 - What Motivates You To Create? The truth is that I have more ideas than time when it comes to inspiration, but motivation is something different. How do I go from concept to fruition? What is the kindling? I find that if I tell someone I'm going to do something, their expectation gives me accountability, and I get up and go. I give myself breaks, and try to pace myself so as not to burn out - that's important! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
