Jupiter, older - wa2guf's JimdoPage!

http://www.wa2guf.org/jupiter-older

Trip to West Texas. Jupiter imaging with the 7.25" Schupmann Medial. This is a video taken on July 23, 2006 of Jupiter as shock waves, probably from a high altitude supersonic jet, passed in front of the planet. Taken with a Philips ToUcam coupled to the 12.5" f/6 Newtonian with a 5x Powermate. Effective focal ratio f/30. Besides the turbulence caused by the shock waves, the seeing was very poor. March 13, 2013. March 10, 2013. March 10, 2013. February 18, 2013. January 8, 2013. December 7, 2012. The see...

Trip to West Texas. July 19, 2016. The full moon tonight is called the buck moon (Larry told me that). Above is a six panel mosaic taken with the ASI-1600MM on the C14 at its native focal ratio of f/11. The best 30% of the frames of 30 second videos were aligned and stacked in AS! 2, sharpened in Registax6 and the mosaic assembled in Photoshop Elements. July 14, 2016. June 17, 2016. March 12, 2016. June 29, 2015. Here is a mosaic of a nearly full moon captured in 12 videos of 60 seconds duration using th...
