Apologies, and revisting Running Waters. Sep 24th, 2015 at 12:44 PM. Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Health issues meant that I haven't wielded my camera at all in the last few months. Don't despair though, I have a trip planned between now and Christmas. Deb at Larapinta Creative has posted an extensive blog on the June Running Waters camp, featuring art works and photos from all five of us. Check it out here. Running Waters Art Works - Part 3. Cape Town - Part 2. Oct 31st, 2016 at 1:55 PM. We walked from our hotel on the Foreshore to the V&A (Victoria and Alfred) Waterfront. It used to be the major dockyards for the city but now has largely been gentrified and upgraded for tourists and locals alike. The main docks are now elsewhere but it sometimes still gets some maritime trade. Though we walked through relatively early on a Saturday morning, we saw plenty of people out jogging, cycling, even dragon boating. Cape Town - Part 1. Last year....

The Knitty Gritty Homestead: The Simple Beauty of France
http://theknittygrittyhomestead.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-simple-beauty-of-france.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. The Simple Beauty of France. Le cœur a ses raisons, que la raison ne connaît point. I spent a whirlwind five days in France this past weekend. My love affair with this country began when I was sixteen, and like all affairs it burned strong in its early years. I spent three months there as an exchange student, then returned for a Christmas visit four years later when I was studying in Belfast. Armed with a kick ass dress and a good camera, I promptly fell back into love, hard.

The Knitty Gritty Homestead: summer holidays, at last
http://theknittygrittyhomestead.blogspot.com/2015/06/summer-holidays-at-last.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. Summer holidays, at last. Tired faces, ready to be done school! Pioneer costumes optional for summer fun. Hands full of wonder. The last week of school was tough on us both; she was home from her daycare and was here in the care of my mom and my mother-in-law. She cried every morning when we left, and we literally counted down the days. When I got home on Wednesday I noticed a curious spotty rash all over her torso. I'll drop by here now and then when I have fun stuff to share.

The Knitty Gritty Homestead: June 2015

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Farm chores, beach pictures. Photos by Maureen of Twig and Toadstool. My dear husband faithfully tends to our animals during the winter when I tend to stick a bit close to the wood stove and my knitting. I am so appreciative of that gesture! So, in the summer when I'm home and he continues to go out to work, I take over the chores. I tell him. You'll be big enough then to show them who's boss. And for the pup and make sure their water bowls are replenished, then step inside. Havin...

The Knitty Gritty Homestead: December 2014
http://theknittygrittyhomestead.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 11, 2014. Now She Is Two. Dear, dear Norah,. Today you are two! You are my little dawn-treader. I hear you up at four in the morning, and I nudge your dad so he can try yet again to comfort you back to sleep. I know deep down that I will soon find my way to your side. I never can resist it when you say, "Mama.nuuussss! This morning we took a bath together before everyone else got up. I remembered the night of your birth. We love you so very much. We are so thankful you're here....Faith...

Friday, January 30, 2015. To be home, with free time. We didn't realise how busy we've been until suddenly, we weren't. Jude's final performance as a raccoon twin in "Peter Pan Jr." was last Sunday, and this coming weekend will be the first since September that we've been able to spend completely at home. We've adjusted to the busyness of ferrying him to and from rehearsals every weekend and are eager to spend two days in a row at home. Oh, how I love home! Everyone seems calmer and quieter. Then they br...

Pumpkin Patch - Static and Silence
http://winam.livejournal.com/397759.html
Aug 11th, 2015 at 2:33 PM. Last summer we grew our first pumpkins. Having never grown them before, we weren't quite prepared for how the plant literally took over the garden. The runners seemed to grow inches overnight! 1 comment Leave a comment. Aug 12th, 2015 11:01 am (UTC). 1 comment Leave a comment. Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. Meet Me at Mikes. Oct 8th, 2015 at 5:27 PM. Over the winter we had a crop of beetroot on the go. It wasn't quite ready to eat until spring, and then we had a glut! We could have done what we always did, roasted them and then tossed them into a salad with some sharp fetta and rocket, but one needs to be creative when faced with a glut. First, I tried making these beetroot burgers. I knew I had to try them. Instead of a single square of chocolate in each muffin, I mixed through the same amount of dark choc chips through...
