My responsibilities include preaching and teaching a Bible study in each church, but I also come along and do whatever I can in their prayer meetings and a children's club in the larger setting. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Posted by Will Ackles. Monday, July 05, 2010. Nancy and I have stopped on a ridge overlooking the Barrow Valley in County Carlow, Ireland. We had a delightful Irish breakfast at a local garden center, and have been driving around, revisiting areas we had spent time in while serving the Carlow Presbyterian church for two months two years ago. Tuesday, July 05, 2011. I am here to help out in two Presbyterian churches. One in Wexford and one in Enniscorthy. The official responsibilities are to preach in each on Sunday mornings and to lead a Bible Study in the Wexford church on Tuesday evenings. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. In the spring I was looking forward to spending the summer at our home in Greensboro. Being away so much of the time it just seemed like that would be good. The flight back to Dublin was smooth, and as Andrea picked up Brian and headed north to Lisburn I was picked up by a Dublin friend and taken to Sandymount, a village just south of Dublin proper, where Nancy was staying with a friend. They were gracious, friendly, and hard-working—tied to the milking of the cows, raising chickens, the cutting of silage, and the vagaries of the weather (which was wonderful-the best weather in anyone’s memory).
