Wading Through Fields

Thursday, May 3, 2012. Last week on the very last day of April we had snow! Funny to think that in March we had temperatures well above 20*C. The snow did not last very long and was gone by the end of the day. The weather has been more Spring-like since then, which I am enjoy since I don't love the Summer heat as many people do. Last month Jason and I had a wonderful date day. It began with a trip to the National Art Gallery. Where we really enjoyed the art installation: The Clock. A very enjoyable day!

Wading Through Fields: A Day to Renew

http://wadingthroughfields.blogspot.com/2011/01/day-to-renew.html

Friday, January 21, 2011. A Day to Renew. I have been busy with The Silver Hook. And my husband was working a night shift. We decided to celebrate on Tuesday. For many small business owners, our businesses can consume all of our free time. We think about it late at night, first thing in the morning, and pretty much all day. But on Tuesday, I spent the day away from my hook and yarn, and had a wonderful time in Halifax and Dartmouth. And a quick snack at Two If By Sea. For supper. We ate supper while ...

Wading Through Fields: A Beautiful Fall Day & Oktoberfest

http://wadingthroughfields.blogspot.com/2011/11/beautiful-fall-day-oktoberfest_10.html

Thursday, November 10, 2011. A Beautiful Fall Day and Oktoberfest. Saturday, October 21 Jason and I decided take the public transit downtown Ottawa for the 2nd Annual OktoberFest at the Byward Market. There was live music, pumpkins, apples, wagon rides, dancing, and, of course, sausages, schnitzel, and beer. The day began overcast and damp, but the forecast was optimistic. While the temperature was a bit cool, walking around and enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells we quickly warmed up! From Nova Scot...

Wading Through Fields: June 2010

Sunday, June 27, 2010. Have Your Meat and Eat It Too. I am very lucky to have Jason –for many reasons, but today’s reason is that we both love to learn. We find information through different means, and on different topic. Then we share. Usually we use Google Reader to share information, but recently we listened to a fantastic podcast on the meat industry from CBC Ideas. Some interesting facts from the podcast (Have Your Meat and Eat It Too). In large scale hog farms, healthy. Look at where your meat is c...

Wading Through Fields: Day 10 - Money, Art, & Justice

http://wadingthroughfields.blogspot.com/2010/08/day-10-money-art-justice.html

Thursday, August 26, 2010. Day 10 - Money, Art, and Justice. This Monday morning (August 23rd) forecast was a bit better. Well, last night it was better, but today was different. Jason explained that the computer model was likely flip-flopping, and that since the system was moving out, the skies would likely clear in the afternoon (and they did). It is brilliant being married to a meteorologist! The morning began with a tour of the Royal Canadian Mint. With Kristen Dunst, McG, and Takashi Murakami). ...

Wading Through Fields: September 2010

http://wadingthroughfields.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Monday, September 13, 2010. Day 15 – 2000 Meters Under the Snow (not leagues under the sea). I am not sure what time we woke on the train, but we managed to sleep well enough. We woke to a view of trees and rock (as the Arrogant Worms. Would describe), and mountains in the distance. There is something very Zen about seeing the high peaks, snow topped even in August. A Via Rail. Employee would intermittently come on the PA system, and describe various landmarks including Pyramid Falls. We arrived in Jasper.

Saturday, November 22, 2008. A very delayed part II. I don't have a single excuse other than the fact that I've been really lazy.  Yes, I'm working (we will get to that in a second), but it's not like I don't spend countless hours perusing through facebook on any given day.  I've been an awful blogger.  I don't deserve to have anyone read it anymore.  Forgive me? Alright, now that we've taken care of that-let's get back to the story at hand. Monday, October 13, 2008. Have you ever tried the stuff? 160;I ...

Wading Through Motherhood

Saturday, August 15, 2015. Because I'm Not Perfect. We used paper plates for dinner tonight while rows of clean, white china sat unused in the cabinets. And, on those paper plates sat leftovers, roasted chicken revived with herbs, barbecue sauce and a simple side of raspberries. Because I’m not perfect. Was pushed to the side of the bed as we collapsed from a day of playing, learning, and working. It may be put away tomorrow, but maybe not. Because I’m not perfect. Because, yes, I’m not perfect. I will h...
