Single.Simple.Studio: 2014 Goals
http://singlesimplestudio.blogspot.com/2014/01/2014-goals.html
Thursday, January 2, 2014. It is time for me to set my yearly goals. I'm so excited this year to be setting goals that don't include paying off debt! Get my emergency fund up to 6 months worth of expenses. By my calculations, I need to save about $9,000 more than I currently have saved up. Increase my 403b retirement contributions. I'm currently contributing 10% of my salary to this account (pre-tax) every month. My employer also contributes a very nice 12%! 1 Swim twice a week. 2 Do yoga twice a week.

Single.Simple.Studio: July 2014
http://singlesimplestudio.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. I've been meaning to write a post about this for about a month! I finally bought some plants for my kitchen garden. Back in June and I can say this endeavor has been a success so far! You might remember that I intended to do an Ikea run and get some pots and hooks from the Fintorp. And you also might remember that I wanted to do something like this:. Well folks, I did it! I only have two plants in the window right now. But hey, they aren't dead, so this is already a success! The w...

Single.Simple.Studio: Pre-Tax Savings is Awesome (And Other Financial Updates)
http://singlesimplestudio.blogspot.com/2014/07/pre-tax-savings-is-awesome-and-other.html
Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Pre-Tax Savings is Awesome (And Other Financial Updates). Soooit’s been a while. Hello again! June was an unusually busy month. But busy in a good way. I’ve been living life, which means I’ve been doing things that don’t involve sitting at a computer. And writing blog entries. And that’s okay :). That doesn’t mean I’ve shied away from my goals, I’ve just been focusing on my financial goals for a while. I started off 2014 with a post about my goals. I put these two together becaus...

Single.Simple.Studio: February 2014
http://singlesimplestudio.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 13, 2014. I'm back with the contuning story of my wardrobe downsizing. I'm calling this one "countless cardigans" because it really feels like I have so many that they are not quantifiable! I had a great idea, which was to get out all of my cardigans and start pairing them with outfits. Anything that doesn't go with more than one outfit gets the boot. I started with this pile:. I thought, wow, that's a lot of cardigans. But little did I know that I had more hiding. I took a long hard l...

Upset Apple Cart: September 2012
http://upset-applecart.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 7, 2012. I’m thinking about an experiment. I’m a plan-30-things-get-2-done-and-then-stress-about-the-list-left-over. It’s a lot to look forward to and I’ve been thinking I am stressing myself out. Sure I could use to loose a few pounds. Sure my apartment isn’t a stunning image of modern décor and organization. Sure my cats bum hairs need to be clipped because he’s catching poop on his pants. Sure I write obsessively, have a full time job and take on all this other stuff on the side.

Thursday, May 22, 2014. Spring is in the Air. and on My Balcony Part 1. It's that time of year! The long weekend came and went with a little bit of rain but a lot of sun that just made it so wonderful to be outside. This is part one, of two parts (I think). Now as much as I love pretty flowers and plants I love cooking more and thought I'd try my hand at herbs and vegetables. First thing I did was grab the essentials. Plants. and Pommies. I guess something for the dirt would be smart? Not to mention we a...
