Thursday, January 26, 2012. Project 365 Day 172 - 185. Rob and I came back home from a workout with our church (at 8 in the morning), and as were pulling in I asked Rob who had drawn our family on our car. He didn't even know it was there. It's very cute. But whoever drew it either doesn't know we have our cat Arnie, or they left him out. Maybe I should go draw him in myself. I will be Inspired. I will see the Good. I will Love and be Loved. I will give Thanks. Having young children is wonderful. The...

Monday, January 30, 2012. A Cake a Week - Week One. Last week was my first week for my new project, a cake a week. I was asked to make a sheet cake and a smash cake for an adorable little boy turning one. They were having a monster birthday bash theme and I wanted to do something to match that. So I made him his own little friendly monster to eat up. The cake is a full yellow sheet cake, with chocolate filling, and vanilla frosting.. I am looking forward to my next cake project. We were so excited to go shopping. We never dreamed we'd be shopping for 0 - 3 months clothes! Hopefully in the next few weeks we'll get a call a...

Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We hope everyone has a very. And a Happy New Year! This little gal and her four siblings live in Guatemala. Last Friday, when most of us were Christmas shopping, they were found all alone and eating dirt to fill their bellies. The oldest child of the five, a nine year old girl, is their only mother figure. And share their story with 10 people. I know you're thinking, ten dollars is kind of a lot this week. I me...

Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. About a month ago our good friends Tim and Angi Cooper from Bloomfield finally received their referral for Aerie. She is 13 months old and absolutely beautiful! They will be leaving to meet her and to appear in Ethiopian court on January 6th with a January 11th court date. We could not be more excited for all three of them! We sure do wish we were traveling with them, but more importantly we want Aerie to come home quickly! We are Logan and Brandy Wa...

Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. Here we are. Together for a whole month. Oh. mistakes have been made. But there have been beautiful, glorious, perfect moments too. So much of this month has been a blur of exhaustion and emotion, but we'll never forget these days. Maybe we'll forget the specific day and the time and the words that were spoken. but we'll never forget. What this feels like. What adoption feels like. Discovering together, for the first time, what it really means. Their...

Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. One last pre-Christmas update. This poor blog has been sorely neglected this month. Having both of our kids home this year. For the past two Christmases we've been waiting for a referral. (The first Christmas believing that it could happen quickly. And the second Christmas wondering if it would. Willow is doing great. She's walking and she's into. When we came home with her and the adoption "journey" was finally over, we kind of wondered what we woul...

Four Months! - Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption...
http://ourethiopiandaughter.weebly.com/2/post/2010/12/four-months.html
Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. We have been officially waiting for a referral for four months! Our agency still estimates that the wait time for an infant girl referral will take 7 - 11 months. We're of course hoping for 7 months. or less! We are currently #15 on the waiting list. Things have moved slowly these past two months for many reasons. We haven't moved very far up the list, but we know that things will start moving eventually. White vinyl - 4.5" x 5"). Our journey through parenthood and Ethiopian adoption. Aberash - New Update! Aberash is traveling to Addis right now. It's a long, long journey from Harar. And tomorrow, Thursday (late tonight, early tomorrow our time), she will appear before the adoption judge in the same place that we went to court while we were there. She has to give her testimony directly to the judge and she will be very nervous. She is doing this very difficult thing for. We just found out that the interview has. Aberash was so kin...
