Lake Victoria hosts some of the biggest Nile Perch and Tilapia in the world. The largest Nile Perch caught at the Lodge is 86 kg and Tilapia 4.2 kg. Fishing from the front jetty for Tilapia using live bait is excellent as is casting with lures for Nile Perch. We have a 'tinny' which can be used to fish around the Lodge, but if you require a day trip on the Lake, then this will have to be planned in advance to ensure the boat and Captain are available. Wag Hill Lodge has been constructed at the end of a peninsula jutting out into the Mwanza Gulf with over a kilometre of protected waterfront. The lodge has two natural harbours which have become breeding grounds for some of the largest Tilapia one can find anywhere in the world.
