Semesa Lase of Namara, Tailevu, signing a pledge not to fish, buy or eat the two types of fish, kawakawa and donu, at the SeaWeb's Pledge To Save The Kawakawa campaign in Suva yesterday. Picture: ELIKI NUKUTABU. A CAMPAIGN was launched yesterday to boost fish stocks, specifically that of the kawakawa and donu. SeaWeb program associate Alumeci Nakeke said they were delicacies as well as commercially valuable fish for Fiji's coastal communities.

February 28, 2015. Waitabu welcomes a Student Intern from Inner Mongolia, China. Kun Ma, a student intern from Inner Mongolia, China, spent 6 weeks in Fiji in October and November 2014. Kun spent 2 weeks in Suva, assisting with data entry for the Great Fiji Shark Count. Then travelled to the island of Taveuni where she lived with villagers in Waitabu village for 4 weeks, carrying out projects related to the sustainable management of the Waitabu Marine Park.
