It truly reminded me of the waves back in the California.white caps and the sound of a wave crashing. The wind was wonderful too since it seemed to cool off the island a few degrees. 15 hours before the storm-usually the ocean is smooth like glass and here the wave are slowly building. The city of Bath took me by surprise. It is quaint, unique, and has a feeling of being isolated. But it's just a feeling. Known for its Roman baths and Jane Austen museum, Bath was a fun day trip - only 1-1/2 hours from Oxford. So glad we didn't miss it. Alan and Anna are fun to traipse across the country with!

Tuesday, 26 January 2010. First Week Snow Kiting. I’ve been in Switzerland for a week now and all is well. The journey was long and tiring and for once I had enough music to not hear the same track twice. There is not as much snow as last year which, was a very special season but there is certainly a good base. The pistes are a bit tired at the moment and hopefully we will get some fresh snow soon. As usual the toboganning is a big hit, especially at night after a fondue and some beers to numb the courage.
