My NYC Diary: A smatter of history !
http://mynycdiary.blogspot.com/2005/11/smatter-of-history.html
Thursday, November 10, 2005. A smatter of history! Thought today that I'd do some research on the history of New York. Before the arrival of European settlers, New York was primarily inhabited by the Lenape tribes (later called the Delaware Indians by the Europeans). Italian explorer Giovanni de Verrazano. Connecting these two burroughs is named in his honor. Incidentally, this bridge happens to be the longest suspension bridge in the United States! As beautiful a land as one can hope to tread on. The ea...

My NYC Diary: Movie mania
http://mynycdiary.blogspot.com/2006/08/movie-mania.html
Wednesday, August 30, 2006. These days, I am on a super binge of movie-watching; have watched more than 10 in the last week only. As such, I have an appetite for all kinds of movies, but recently, have been watching too many thrillers. It all started with Harrison Ford's Jack Ryan movies - Patriot Games. And Clear And Present Danger. Real pop-corn crunching stuff. Followed it up with another Ford thriller, Presumed Innocent. And finally, watched Spy Game. Where you can find me and Bloomiboy. Day 100 - A ...

My NYC Diary: Bitten by commercialism?
http://mynycdiary.blogspot.com/2006/08/bitten-by-commercialism.html
Sunday, August 13, 2006. Made some changes on this blog. Nay, there are none, you might say. but for the trained eye, there are many. For one, I have listed all my blogs out there on the left, and yeah, as you would have guessed, all of them haven't had much to show, of late. Anyway, I just thought that it might be useful if you happen to be like to read what I write (okie okie, too much of optimism, but then, you see.I am an optimist). Posted by vsat at 4:07 AM. My NYC Diary: September 2006
http://mynycdiary.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 05, 2006. Just back from watching Lage Raho Munnabhai. And whoa, what a movie! If you thought that the first one was funny, this one is funnier! And more sensible, and more lovable too. Suffice to say that I have been absolutely bored of all the super-nonsense sequels being churned out all summer. And this one comes like a whiff of fresh air.easily the most likeable movie this year. Wow.great job, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Hats off to you two! More info on Movie Watchers.
