From mid-September to very early November 2014 I walked 545 miles from St Jean Pied de Port in the French Pyrenees to Finisterre on the Spanish Atlantic Coast. This was my first long-distance walk (if you don't include the West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way in Scotland! And the experience was amazing. I stayed in a rather weird place - basic rooms above a cafe and my room was over the cafe. Big mistake! So far it's been 38 days of walking, allowing for rest days, but it will be 40 days of walking when I reach Finisterre on Saturday. As of today I've covered just under 520 miles and, so far, without any blisters! Last night I had a great meal with a few other pilgrims at their albergue.
