Walk of Art: More oak

http://walkingart.blogspot.com/2007/09/more-oak.html

An experiment in everyday art. Art that travels where you do. Monday, September 10, 2007. I am doing a farmer market on Wednesday on 14th and South Street from 5pm until dusk. Thus the posting to get up to date. I first thought I had not competed may spoons in the last thirty days, I was wrong. 144 - Rustic Oak - reminds me of something you might find in an old cabin. 145 - Oak paddle - great for stirring or spanking. Obviously, I need to stop posting now before the silly me takes hold.rod.

Walk of Art: May 2006

http://walkingart.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html

An experiment in everyday art. Art that travels where you do. Sunday, May 14, 2006. Brook Trout: April 2006. Posted by rod termaat at 8:40 PM. My son has been asking me to carve him a stick with his favorite animal - the koala. I worked up this one as a 2 piece carving so that the koala could be removed when he wanted to play swords with his buddies. It was built up from 3/4 poplar and the koala is basswood. It was fun to carve and the bamboo look turned out pretty cool. Posted by rod termaat at 8:29 PM.

An experiment in everyday art. Art that travels where you do. Sunday, September 09, 2007. Busy August but still some spoons completed. 134 - Lacewood Lollipop. This is a neat design I have tried with varying degrees of success. It is somewhat contempory, but handles well. 135 - Lacewood Tulip Salad set. This is another set in Lacewood. It is the last of my supply for a while. Posted by rod termaat at 8:18 PM. Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. Woodcarver, woodworker, bicycles, camping. Mess of spoons 2.

An experiment in everyday art. Art that travels where you do. Sunday, July 29, 2007. Here a picture of another woodcarving hobby of mine. It is more of a winter thing, or when the inspiration hits me. Needless to say I use very small tools to carve these items and they take a long time to complete. Each one is about 1 1/2" high. An experiment in everyday art. Art that travels where you do. Monday, September 10, 2007. 143 - Trio of Oak. 3 spoons carved as a set. These are not left completely natural, but somewhat in between the elegant and rustic look. They turned out great and I am having a hard time parting with them. Posted by rod termaat at 7:36 PM. Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. Woodcarver, woodworker, bicycles, camping. View my complete profile. 140 - Ash Ladle. 136 - Ash Ladle. Busy August but still some spoons completed.
