Sunday, June 19, 2011. Respite in the Hills of Central Mongolia. Whenever he fell asleep the other woman and I would literally end up on top of each other because he would take up the entire back seat LOL. What was really a hoot was when he and I were wrestling while waiting for the tires to be fixed. As any mother would do, I quickly used tickling tactics to control the situation. The day after arriving in UB, 18 volunteers and 9 staff departed for the "Mongolian Secret History Ger Camp and Resort.".

It is hard to imagine that one month ago, this time, I was preparing to embark on a 21-day horse ride from Choibalsan to Ulaanbaatar (665km) as part of an advocacy, public relations and fundraising campaign for the Association of Parents with Disabled Children (APDC). The 4-5 days leading up to the departure on the 19. Were riddled with challenges and obstacles. So much so, I was questioning whether or not the ride was going to (should) happen. Sleep eluded me during those days.

I've been trying to revive some of the bushes that have been affected by the drought with daily watering. So far, I am seeing tiny bits of green reappear among the brown crunchy leaves, so I believe that there is hope. Also yesterday I drew a picture of my pretty purse!
