Andrew’s uncle and aunt live just a 1 hour flight and 30 minute taxi ride away, which made for a safe landing destination when we found out that we would have to leave Rwanda for a bit due to some issues with our visa (more on that in a future blog post! I recently wrote to a friend that settling in here feels somewhat like moving from the familiar to the unfamiliar. Traffic is one area following that arc. The buses in DC also generally make sense. There are, in fact, buses, with aisles and seats and handles for those who have to stand up. They run basically on a schedule (although they easily get snarled in the traffic). I’ve become a more aggressive driver here.
