We treated our clothes and gear with permethrin in hopes of keeping away Lyme disease carrying ticks! A car stopped in the middle of the road to offer us cracker jacks and Gatorade. And Dave embodied hiker trash (also see cannonball bath and carb loading continental breakfast) by washing our clothes and packs in a motel bath tub. Eventful state, indeed. August 21, 2014.
