Walking Together

Wednesday, 25 July 2012. What's My Story About Where I've Been. So I think I must be the worst blogger ever. OK maybe not the worst but of course I have fallen into the pattern I think many new bloggers develop – getting off to a good start and then trying to figure out how to find the time to make regular posts. Well and then there’s this thing calling living in Africa that makes it a bit challenging. And then typing up and posting when there is power again! Live and learn I guess! I have more followers...

Walking Together: February 2012

http://walkingtogether-uganda.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, 9 February 2012. What's in a Name? Today I’m puzzling over what it means to be a muzungu in an African country. I’ve mentioned before that here in Uganda people have a name for white people – muzungu. Every time I walk to the corner to buy a loaf of bread or go for a run over the dirt roads of my neighborhood, children greet me waving and smiling with a cry of “Bye Muzungu.”. Children wave at me and shout muzungu when I am riding in the car through the neighborhood on my way to work. What a tab...

Walking Together: A Future That is Not My Own

http://walkingtogether-uganda.blogspot.com/2012/03/future-that-is-not-my-own.html

Tuesday, 27 March 2012. A Future That is Not My Own. I had intended to write on a different topic Thursday evening but before settling down to write decided to stop for a cold drink at a local shop. Sodas here are served in glass bottles which require a deposit so small vendors expect you to consume on site and return the bottle when you are finished. One of the young men lived in the back of the shop. I assumed the woman who owned the store was his mother or his guardian. His friend had come for a visit.

Walking Together: January 2012

http://walkingtogether-uganda.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Friday, 27 January 2012. Planting a Mustard Seed. I have been meaning to write a post for several days now. The whole week before I’ve had plenty of moments that I’ve wanted to reflect upon and share and I really wanted to stick to my promise to myself that I would blog once a week. But there are many things that I’ve been meaning to do for the last week that can’t quiet seem to get done. Then again this week the power was off for almost two days straight. One of the main reasons is education. So, as an ...

WALKING TO FOREVER

Tuesday, October 4, 2011. The winds of change. I walked outside this morning and felt the wind hit my cheek,. The feeling of fall was definitely in the air,. We all expect the change of seasons as they move each gently in to the other,. And yet somehow it always takes time to adjust to each one. As it is in our lives.the winds of change come. They come sometimes ever so gently that we hardly notice,. Like a child growing up way too fast,. Like a parent aging right before your eyes ever so gentle. How els...

Blog York - Geneva 2012 - 2015. Step by step to Geneva. As you probably already know if you're arrived here, in 2012 I took a break in order to walk one of the old European pilgrim paths from Canterbury to Geneva. At just over 1,000 km (around 630 miles) it took me just over 6 weeks. I left Canterbury on 18 July and returned from Geneva on 31 August. This walk now means I've walked every metre of the path (the Channel excepted! However, with only about 200 miles to go to Santiago, I'm in no hurry to arri...

Walking Together

A newsletter for young Christians. Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Has come to an end. As I prepare to graduate high school and attend Baylor University next fall, I am no longer able to continue writing for, editing, and publishing the newsletter. The Lord is guiding me to the next stage of my life, with many new commitments and things to do. Walking Together. To be used in the lives of Christian teens and kept it going to this, its natural ending point. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Letter from the Editor.
