Sadiecakes: September 2012
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
September 7, 2012. The Love Affair is Over. So Sadie says to me yesterday:. I don't want to go to school tomorrow. I'm going to refuse. But she went this morning, no problem. She likes school, just doesn't feel like going. Remind you of anyone? So I guess it's normal, in an every-kid-is-insane sort of way. Posted by Sarah Lyons Fleming. Links to this post. September 5, 2012. Is This the Little Girl I Carried? Oh, wait, I still carry her around. Anyway, she's in kindergarten! You knew I was kidding, right?

Sadiecakes: December 2013
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
December 28, 2013. And here's a look at the old year. You'll be traveling back in time. Not because I want to be cute- it's pure laziness, and that's how they uploaded. The eight inches of snow that closed the city down for a week. We're lightweights over here. The first day of school. The only time in twelve months they weren't fighting. Pumpkins, Cider and Jail. Or cabin-ing, for you purists. Okay, there was one other time they weren't fighting. Silly, silly people! Posted by Sarah Lyons Fleming.

Sadiecakes: Halloween, Twenty Thirteen
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2013/11/okay-dont-freak-out.html
November 15, 2013. Halloween, Twenty Thirteen. Okay, don't freak out. It's been a year. A whole year. Wow, I'm a slacker. But here they are at Halloween. A tree and a ladybug. I photoshopped the bejesus out of these pictures. Don't forget we live in Oregon, where the sun stops appearing sometime in October, so they might be a bit blurry. As usual, we had fun, got too much candy (that I will be throwing out in March to make room for Easter candy), and gave out treats. Posted by Sarah Lyons Fleming.

Sadiecakes: March 2012
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
March 18, 2012. Third Time's the Lucky Charm. Or it wasn't. Because we didn't catch a leprechaun. We built two traps. One was a reprise of the cup trap from previous years. But we thought the other couldn't fail. When we came out in the morning the trap door was shut and the box was still closed. Sadie hid in the hallway while I peeked inside. Oh, yeah, Sadie was very excited to make the traps but then she looked at me with big eyes and said, Mama, I'm kind of scared we'll catch a leprechaun. Anyway, we ...

Sadiecakes: Angry Eyes
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012/11/angry-eyes.html
November 8, 2012. Sometime this summer we painted faces and when Will washed Sy's off the remnants that remained made his eyebrows look dark and angry. The kids thought it was so funny that the next day they wanted angry eyes. Again So we did it. For some reason they also needed glasses. Very studious, angry people. This one looks Silas might start writing experimental poetry any minute. Posted by Sarah Lyons Fleming. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Walking to the Chair.

Sadiecakes: Puss in Boots and Kitty
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012/11/puss-in-boots-and-kitty.html
November 1, 2012. Puss in Boots and Kitty. In keeping with what appears to be our long-standing tradition of being a cat for Halloween, the kids wanted to be Puss in Boots and his friend, Kitty. What could be better than being a cat and. Being allowed to play with a sword all day? Oh, right. Candy! We made the usual circuit of the loop, which reaps more candy than we need. I'm frightened by the amount of candy they'll get when they're older and can go farther. Then they got to eat candy and stay up late.

Sadiecakes: June 2012
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
June 26, 2012. The End of an Era. I know I've been supremely bad about the blog. Terrible. Awful. Falling down on the job. And so on. And I don't even have new pictures for you right now. I know, I know. You forgive me, though. What I do want to tell y'all is that Sy hasn't had booboos in almost four weeks. I know you probably aren't amazed by the fact that an almost three year-old has stopped nursing, but I am. It was so easy, easier than I thought it would be. And now I am free! Lump rises in throat.

Sadiecakes: Is This the Little Girl I Carried?
http://sadie-cakes.blogspot.com/2012/09/is-this-little-girl-i-carried.html
September 5, 2012. Is This the Little Girl I Carried? Oh, wait, I still carry her around. Anyway, she's in kindergarten! She loved it, as we knew she would. Look at how excited she is. With her friend Laila, right before we went in. The official Oregon First Day of School Kissing of the Tree. You knew I was kidding, right? We're not that weird out here. She's just really excited. Excited enough to kiss a tree. We've all been there, no? Posted by Sarah Lyons Fleming. Such a grown-up little girl!
