http://gettinggrace.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Sunday, May 10, 2015. This has been a very kind of different day for all of us this year. Some of it was the same. We got up and went to church together. I got a card from Sam that he made in class. We've spent the entire day together. But it has been so very different. Mike isn't here. For six months now, Mike isn't here. And I hate it. I miss him so much, every single day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Most years, I allow us to take extra days off. Maybe I wake up and just cannot face another day of math and my children, so, No School Today. We usually finish up around the end of May. This year, however, I was very disciplined. Each day we were supposed to do school, we did school. And it has totally paid off because we are done! 100 Things About Us.

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Tuesday, August 05, 2014. 10 Years of Grace. Today you turn ten. I can't believe I typed those words. Last week I told Uncle Ken that just a few days ago you were a skinny little thing with no hair. He defended you saying, "She had hair, It was the mohawk." But he was equally incredulous that you were almost ten. Ten years ago, you were on the other side of the world with another mommy. She gave you u...

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Saturday, June 21, 2014. DayumI don't even know any more. I didn't realize my last email was going to be a blog post. That was a twist. But oh well. The whole stream-of-consciousness thing seemed to work for the last one, so I'm gonna do the same thing for this one. Brace yourselves; it's Tuesday night and I didn't get to say much over Skype. The first time Don got the ball, he slammed it! And peeled the ...

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Sunday, February 01, 2015. The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Weekend. To be fair, it wasn't so for all of us. Miracle got her hair colored on Friday (purple streaks), spent the night with her aunt, then spend a chunk of Saturday shopping. The rest of us were not so lucky. He did not look good. The rest of the day and into the evening, Sam and I had dueling fevers. But Mike is not here. I sent Grac...

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Tuesday, May 13, 2014. The Science curriculum we use has many different kinds of experiments to do, to reinforce what you're learning. The last unit we did was about plants, and we were to plant some seeds in various types of environments and record what happened. We figured the potting soil and the dirt would produce, maybe the mixture, and nothing would happen in the sand. We were so wrong. 11 Mike is m...

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. This year is so different, not at all what I ever imagined. Twenty-three years ago today, at 7:30 in the evening in front of a church full of friends and family, Mike and I joined our lives together. We were young and idealistic and crazy in love with one another. Together. Always together. And now we're apart. Now, seven months later, I still miss him so much it hurts. 1 We love J...

More Than We Ever Imagined. Two parents, three kids, and a cat. It doesn't get any better than this. Wednesday, August 05, 2015. Concerning my children, ten is a hard birthday for me. They begin the double digits, and there's no turning back from that. It's like the end of an era almost. Anyway, ten makes me sad. Eleven makes it real. Eleven means she's not little anymore. She's becoming a young lady. Eleven means the teen years are just around the corner. Eleven means boys are just around the corner.
