http://walkwithusreadings.blogspot.com/2009/01/i-came-back-to-philadelphia-because-i.html
Scenes read at public readings. For P-Flag, 1/18. I read these passages at the beautiful new LGBT center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, where P-Flag Philly holds its meetings. Chapter 21 - No Heat: Deleted from Part One
http://walkwithuscuts.blogspot.com/2008/12/deleted-from-part-one.html
Chapter 21 - No Heat. A sample chapter, and a few cuts with explanations. Monday, December 15, 2008. Deleted from Part One. Tahija and I were at the front window. It was night, late, and Jessie Dell was in the park losing it. We knew it was her in the dark behind the police van because she kept shouting it, “I’m Jessie Dell! I’m Jessie Dell,” like if she didn’t her very identity would escape into the night along the wild wires of her hair. 8220;Tony did it! Tony’s the one! 8220;Who’s Tony? 8220;Her name&...

Chapter 21 - No Heat: A passage I decided to cut
http://walkwithuscuts.blogspot.com/2009/04/working-class-roots.html
Chapter 21 - No Heat. A sample chapter, and a few cuts with explanations. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. A passage I decided to cut. I cut this because it seemed too long a sidebar. But maybe at some level I didn't want to expose myself to the kind of scrutinty the passage talks about. This would have been late in the book, when Tahija and I start to have serious conflict. She looked at me blankly. "They figured he'd beat her up, see? Her face was all swollen.". Posted by E. K. Gordon. Walk with Us blog.

Scenes read at public readings: Worcester State Hospital March 18
http://walkwithusreadings.blogspot.com/2009/03/worcester-state-hospital-march-18.html
Scenes read at public readings. Worcester State Hospital March 18. At the reading, I left out a few paragraphs that I thought were too dense and too hard to hear. Maybe I just didn't want to alientate people.anyway, they're starred here.]. This first long excerpt is from Tahija Elison's in-progress autobiography, "My Life as I Know It". When I found her room, Tahija said, not looking up from combing out her hair,. 8220;Now what I’m supposed to do in this bed all day, Kathryn? 8220;I can’t, thatR...
