FAQ
http://www.allesleyparkwalledgarden.co.uk/faq.html
Children and young people aged 17 and under are very welcome to join the APWGG. However, they must join with one or more adult family members and be accompanied by them or another responsible adult to all Walled Garden events. We run events aimed at children and young people which are publicised locally. Can I bring my dog into the garden? If you have a question which is not in the FAQs below, please contact us. What does it cost to join the Allesley Park Walled Garden? What do I get for my membership?

Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden: Spring has sprung
http://ashfurlongwalledkitchengarden.blogspot.com/2011/04/spring-has-sprung.html
Saturday, 23 April 2011. We have been experiencing phenomenal weather over the past few weeks, with temperatures. Reaching mid summer levels and very little rainfall. Due to real life and jobs etc getting in the way progress in the walled garden has been quite slow. The salvaged greenhouse is now glazed and in production. They may form some fruit. Could help to make an identification. The fruit is now forming on the fanned Gooseberries and providing the wood pigeons don't have an early morning raid again...

Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden: December 2010
http://ashfurlongwalledkitchengarden.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 December 2010. Long time no post. It's been a long time since we last posted. Time just seems to gallop on. Further clearing work has happened on one of the vegatable quarters but the main focus has been on this years christmas tree sales therefore little progress has been made in the walled garden. It has been frozen solid and under several inches of snow for over a month now but we are hoping to make more progress in the new year. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Head Gardeners Diary.

Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden: The real gardeners diary
http://ashfurlongwalledkitchengarden.blogspot.com/2011/02/real-gardners-diary.html
Sunday, 27 February 2011. The real gardeners diary. Weather dry and fine all week. Bright and mild several days, but colder the last few days. Very cold early? With frost at night, very sharpp frost last night. Bright and drying today, planted several roses and sown more peas. But hazy and fine since, cold nights and rather cold days but bright and cheerful. Got more pants for? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden. The Head Gardeners Diary. Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden: March 2010
http://ashfurlongwalledkitchengarden.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 28 March 2010. Sunday 28th March 2010. Following a few weeks of wet weekends and time disappearing with more pressing committments work has started again on the open quarter adjacent to the South facing wall. All the rubbish resulting from the previous jungle clearance has now gone and the large Chaemacyparis Elwoodii that stretch across the quarter are next for the bow saw treatment. Ashfurlong Walled Kitchen Garden: The Head Gardeners Diary
http://ashfurlongwalledkitchengarden.blogspot.com/p/head-gardners-diary.html
The Head Gardeners Diary. The Month of February. Jobs for the month. Continue winter digging if not already completed. On light soils or soils heavily infested with perennial weeds digging with a fork will be advantagious as you run less of a risk of splitting the weed root and making the infestation worse. Take out a trench 15 inches wide and the full depth of a spade. Barrow the spoil from this trench to the other end of the area you are digging as this will be required to back fill the final trench.

Saturday, 27 February 2010. The wet weather job. Saturday 27th Feb 10. After consistent heavy rain all work on the open plot has stopped because it it just too wet to work on without deystroying the soil structure and making a muddy mess. Not to mention getting very wet and cold. The wet weather job was started. One of the old glasshouses (sadly not original victorian), as you can see from the photo's it was ridge high in bramble and scrub. Friday, 26 February 2010. Saturday 20th Feb 2010. Clearing work ...
