Reflections on our family's journey down the Road of Life

Monday, March 16, 2015. We have spent much of the winter working on building a new wood working shop for Sy. We needed a big project to focus our attention. Sy has been instrumental in creating this diversion to keep everyone focused in a positive direction and ensure our hands and minds were not idle. As a result, we have a lovely new shop that is almost completed. Thursday, September 4, 2014. Sunday, April 13, 2014. I have dreaded writing this blog post for so many, many reasons. Reflections on our family's journey down the Road of Life: March 2013

http://walnuthollowworkshop.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 5, 2013. While the men have been hauling rocks and building a root cellar, I have been spending some extra time perfecting my cast iron cooking skills. Weather depending, almost all of our meals are created outside. I enjoy cooking over an open fire, and I am thankful for the skills that I have acquired. However, I also return home with a new respect for the pioneer women that cooked this way year round and thankfulness for some modern luxuries. Potholders, a spatula and a couple spoons.

Reflections on our family's journey down the Road of Life: May 2012

http://walnuthollowworkshop.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 29, 2012. We sell our wares at a variety of events and festivals. One of the most popular questions that we hear again and again is. " Where do you get the wood for all of your beautiful pieces? So, I thought I would take a minute to give folks a little insight into the part of the spoon carving process that most people miss. Reflections on our family's journey down the Road of Life: Snow days...

http://walnuthollowworkshop.blogspot.com/2014/03/snow-days.html

Saturday, March 8, 2014. Well, we had a few good snow days and that slowed the house progress down. The kids were not slowed down at all, and they have been enjoying the snow immensely. Check out the handmade sleds- These were made with PVC pipe and some left over job site scraps. Finally, we did get some sunshine and the house project was back on track. We have gotten all the walls up, the loft made, the porch has a roof, and we are finishing the main roof today. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Reflections on our family's journey down the Road of Life: Another Beautiful Sunrise

http://walnuthollowworkshop.blogspot.com/2014/09/another-beautiful-sunrise.html

Thursday, September 4, 2014. We have spent the past week at a small cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It has been a week of distraction and a step away from a home filled with memories and reminders of our lives with Avyn. It has been another step of healing for my family, and yet today I must return and face my piles of baby clothes and blankets. These are beautiful words, Rachael- thank you for sharing them. Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Three days till Spring. Do you think Mother Nature has the date on her calendar? Anna M. Branner. Friday, March 14, 2014. In Like a Lion! Lots of distractions still going on here in Fredericksburg. But the sewer line is fixed. (We hope.) The city rescheduled FOUR times. So I loaded a bisque this week. I absolutely love my hollow core shelves. SO much lighter and easier to load then the solid ones. You will notice I don't do a lot of stacking. I don't like to put too much pres...

Cloth-n-Clay: Tile Order.

http://www.annabrannersclothnclay.com/2014/12/tile-order.html

Monday, December 8, 2014. I loved making these. AND they all came out flat! If you are a clay artist you know how special that is. Wonder if the person who ordered a "variety of tiles" will take all of them? If not they will end up on Etsy! Anna M. Branner. December 9, 2014 at 8:33 AM. December 9, 2014 at 10:50 AM. Anna M. Friday, October 3, 2014. Fall Fiber Festival Weekend! This weekend is show number 2 for me. Fall Fiber Festival. Near Montpelier (James Madison's home) outside Orange, VA. Lots of woolly goodness,. And my pots of course. I'll be in tent II (4-II when you look at the map below) space #8. The same tent as usual but I have moved across to the other side to make way for a vendor that wanted a double space. The weather has actually begun to look promising. Cooler temperatures and some clouds but no rain!

Cloth-n-Clay: June 2014

http://www.annabrannersclothnclay.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 1, 2014. As many of you know from reading my blog I am a potter who loves to spin! Last Fall I wrote about my trip north to Vermont to visit my friend Kristen and her little piece of heaven, Gilead Fiber Farm. She has a loyal group of fans (I am definitely one of those) who follow her ups and downs through her Ravelry group. While we all scarf up the shares online, she drives the fiber to the mill for processing. And then we patiently (! And the wool in the background is some of the luscious...

Cloth-n-Clay: April 2015

http://www.annabrannersclothnclay.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. I am hanging my head in shame. I have discovered that THINKING about this blog and what I am going to write is not enough for a new post to show up on the web. BUT I am here, and this blog has been on my mind, I am always wondering what is "blog worthy". Our Winter was long and cold. But thankfully not as snowy as the northeast. We renovated our awful kitchen! Now the room is all nicely lit with new can lights and has a brand new insulated ceiling! Why is my big loom at home?

Cloth-n-Clay: February 2014

http://www.annabrannersclothnclay.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 14, 2014. Snow and Slow Progress. Looking at these pictures it just seems that 8 inches really isn't that much snow.but it is HEAVY. And the beauty of it was looking out the front door first thing in the morning and seeing our neighbors doing the shoveling. Taking pity on the poor woman with the broken spouse. I guess we will keep our flushing to two or three times a day till Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday. And keep our fingers crossed. I cleared a path to the studio. Today I plan on...
