A Book About Cambodia. Wednesday, December 26, 2012. Photo by Walter Mason. Below these bruised and battered countenances.stands a causeway. On either side of it are seated fifty-four stone giants. Twenty feet tall as they squat, restraining or, as though taking part in a tug-of-war. Pulling at, the long stone serpent. With a multiple fan-shaped head, which forms the balustrade. The two opposing teams are recruited, one from the gods, the other from devils. Period descriptions of Angkor. Be built in Camb...

Destination Saigon, Adventures in Vietnam is a new book by Walter Mason. out now! Monday, April 28, 2014. Quan Am Pagoda, Phu Nhuan. One of the places I find myself constantly recommending people visit is the little-known Quan Am Pagoda in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City. And yet Sakyamuni remains as the central figure of physical reverence and the object of chanting. Monastics take on the name Thich. Intere...

I concede that I have left some fantastic restaurants out, but I had to make a decision, and this is the outcome. My qualifications to make these judgements? Right in the sleaz...

Karin's Recipes and Random Musings. People keep asking me for my recipes so I thought I'd post 'em here! Monday, June 22, 2015. Pumpkin and pea curry. It has been nine weeks since I broke my arm. And almost three weeks since I stopped wearing an immobilising sling. Recovery is a slow process! I made a big pot of pumpkin and pea curry . some to eat tonight and some to freeze for another day.
