The Wandering Gnome

Feeding my traveling soul. Monday, June 06, 2011. Around the Country in 40 Days. On June 20, we embark on a 40 day trip around the country. We won't hit every state, but we will go through 22 states in about 6000 miles. My daughter has already been to most of these states, but my son has been to only a few. But in both cases, we'll have plenty of new spots to write on their U.S. puzzle maps when we get home. Links to this post. Wednesday, August 18, 2010. A Ginormous Trip in My Future? The Wandering Gnome: August 2010

http://wanderinggnome.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Feeding my traveling soul. Wednesday, August 18, 2010. A Ginormous Trip in My Future? My planned trip back east to the Mid-Atlantic region for next summer's 20th high school reunion has morphed a bit. Or should I say ballooned? We'd get to see parts of the country that I haven't seen in a long time and my kids haven't seen ever. We'd get to visit many friends and a few family members. We'd get to see historical sites. It would be great! I think I need a pep talk. Links to this post.

The Wandering Gnome: January 2010

http://wanderinggnome.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Feeding my traveling soul. Sunday, January 03, 2010. Image by Kup Kup Land. As I am gathering ideas and lists for our New England and Mid-Atlantic trips, I'm also making note of people to visit and people to possibly stay with along the way. Staying with people, for at least part of the time, is the only way these trips will be possible, since funds are quite limited. But the sheer number of people I know in the locations we'll visit is growing rapidly! Something to ask them when the time comes. Simple t...

The travel diary of a food freak. A Conversation with Frank Fejeran. July 3, 2015. I recently sat down to talk to Frank Fejeran, the owner and chef of Ricewood BBQ, to find out a bit about him and what led him to doing what he does. We chatted at one of the picnic tables, the al fresco seating area at Ricewood. The best part about this location was that we were able to appreciate the aromas coming from the wood smoker next to the food truck. When I asked Frank why he chose to open a BBQ place, he replied...

I had the most wonderful opportunity this past summer to go to Oklahoma to visit my BFF! It was so much fun! I hate that we live so far apart! Oklahoma is so lucky to have her! We had so much fun!
