Monday, December 7, 2009. With the single digit temps today, it is hard to believe that a little over a week ago I was shredding dirt with Larissa and my Dad. The bikes are now put away for the season as we await for the snow gods to unleash their fury on the Wasatch. Pacific Crest Trail Overview. Tent Rocks National Monument Day Hike. In May we had the chance to spend a week in Santa Fe with family. We couldn’t wait to visit the desert again! Our itinerary included an excellent day hike in Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. At 3 miles roundtrip, the hike was short, but it included some fantastic geology. Family hike in Tent Rocks National Monument. We found a kingcup cactus flaunting its bold red flowers near the trail. Uncle Bernie walking through the canyon.

This blog is inspired by the Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve in Gardena, California. Sunday, June 16, 2013. Summer Pollinators and Butterflies. Surveying pollinators on native plants - Mother Nature's Backyard. It’s summer and the Gardena Willows Wetland Preserve is literally buzzing with activity. Butterflies and other pollinators are busily making nests, collecting food and setting up housekeeping. Now is one of the best. These plants can’t produce if they aren’t pollinated. Just ask for suggestions.
