The Story of Two Norwegian Families. DOWNLOAD ENTIRE FAMILY HISTORY. 1: Immigration to America. This is the story of two families whose origins go back to a small village in Norway called Imsland. Imsland is located on the west coast of Norway, on the highway from Haugesund to Ropeid on Vindefjord. The first record traces the history of the Aksland farm from 1580 to about 2000. The second traces the family of Christian Olsen from 1749 and their settlement in central Iowa beginning in the early 1890s.
