When in asia…. Greetings (and eatings) from across the IDL. August 12, 2016. August 12, 2016. Fukuoka is a charming coastal city off the southwestern tip of Japan — just a hundred miles or so from Busan, in fact — and my first port of call in Japan. Fukuoka doesn’t show up on most travelers’ itineraries as it’s geographically out of the way and lacks a headline attraction. This was the line at 9:30 pm Usually a good sign. Lunch at a seafood restaurant that proudly displays its wares out in the open.
