HAHEI | wander with lucy

https://wanderwithlucy.wordpress.com/2014/04/22/north-island-hahei

April 22, 2014. It was surprising that the holes differed greatly in temperature. One was so hot it burnt your feet just walking through it. Someone had even put an egg in there to try and boil it, I think it worked a treat! We didn’t get that long here before we had to jump on the bus to the next place but we had long enough to experience the beauty of natures finest sauna. Tom had to give me a few piggy backs here and there. What was supposed to take 1 hour 40 minutes took us well over 2 hours!

LEAVING NEW ZEALAND | wander with lucy

https://wanderwithlucy.wordpress.com/2016/11/17/leaving-new-zealand

November 17, 2016. So its been a little while since my last blog post (10 months to be exact! I have to say to anyone reading this. if you are road tripping New Zealand, do make the effort to see New Plymouth! It’s unbelievable just how many people don’t go there as it is somewhat out the way. Even most Kiwi’s who I worked with hadn’t been. Really cool place though, especially if you have a clear day to see the mighty Mount Taranaki! Surf board on board. Mount Victoria, Wellington. This is the life….

RAGLAN | wander with lucy

https://wanderwithlucy.wordpress.com/2014/04/22/north-island-raglan

April 22, 2014. We didn’t know what to expect with our next stop, Raglan. All we knew is that we had a surf lesson booked. We stayed at the Karioi Lodge, it was up in the beautiful rainforest overlooking the ocean. It really felt like you were up in the “bush”. The staff were very friendly and helpful too, I would definitely recommend staying there. Bridal Veils – A quick photo opportunity stop on the way to Raglan. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Auckland on a second glance. | wander with lucy

https://wanderwithlucy.wordpress.com/2015/01/29/auckland

Auckland on a second glance. January 29, 2015. 1 The Coast to Coast city walk. We woke up and drove into the CBD at 7am. We parked near the viaduct harbour, here would be our starting point. The mission was to walk from one side of the coast to the other. The walk took about 5 hours. During the hike we walked up One tree hill and Mount Eden – both volcanos that overlook the whole city. Both amazing views! It felt even better tucking into a BLT and mango smoothie straight after! 4 Explore the north shore.

WAITOMO CAVES | wander with lucy

https://wanderwithlucy.wordpress.com/2014/05/10/north-island-waitomo-caves

May 10, 2014. After a fun time in Raglan we went to Waitomo, further down the west coast. It’s very famous for its underground caves, we had per booked a tour called the “honking haggis”. I had no idea what to expect, except I knew we would be abseiling underground. We spent 3 hours 80 metres underground, abseiling down waterfalls, crawling through muddy rivers and squeezing through tight rocks. It was like a different world down there! A Lady in Adelaide. Adelaide – Festival City. Photo of the Month: Leprechaun Spotting. Everyone kept telling me that leprechauns did not exist, but for a long time I had been curious about the little green man. So last year I was on a mission to find and meet a leprechaun on my trip to the emerald isle. After a week of travelling around Ireland, I was successful in locating a leprechaun on the streets of Dublin. Continue reading →. Photo of the Month. Four Summer Travel Reads. January 8, 2017. Exploring the Blue Mountains. Bleary eyed from a 6.30am alarm, we miraculously arrived 20 minutes early for our train to the Blue Mountains. The prfect time to grab breakfast? We thought so until we ended up on the wrong side of the station with three minutes to go. Time flies when you’re thinking of food. Our first view of the incredible landscape was just five minutes from the main road. We looked out over the valley where the Scenic Skyway (part of Scenic World) glides through fre...
