And the idea of staying ahead in my reading quickly went out the window. Despite knowing this would be the inevitable outcome, the first day of school remained a day of great promise. I distinctly remember the fall after I graduated from law school. It felt so strange to not have that fresh start, that first day of school. I missed that feeling.
