That Green Grass

Pics from the Wedding. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. How To Survive Winter Running. I don't have a lot of experience running in the cold. In fact, I would go so far to say that I have none. The reasoning is twofold. Firstly I grew up in (comparatively) balmy South Africa where I never saw snow on the ground - ever, and secondly I didn't really run, so hence the zero experience with the zero temperatures and the pressure of training for a half marathon. 2 Be practical. Especially for longer runs, take...

Pics from the Wedding. Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Don't Touch The Cheetah's Face. This excursion needed it's own post because the phrase "Don't Touch The Cheetah's Face" was echoed so much, I lost count. It is definitely the motto for this holiday and is still in circulation in the G-F household today. Whilst in Stellenbosch we visited Cheetah Outreach. My North American friends, ever seen/heard of a caracal? Well hear ya go. Meet Malaika. Just remember: "Don't Touch The Cheetah's Face"! The next day k...

Pics from the Wedding. Friday, February 24, 2012. Gosh, I love my dog. However, that is a really a side note. This post is way over due but I'm glad I am making it happen to show you the first snow of winter really (let's forget about Halloween snow. it technically wasn't even winter yet) and Mila's first snowy experience. As the snow basically only lasted one day, these shots were all taken on the same day at different times. You will see how Mila's disposition changes as the day goes on. Bar a few phot...

Pics from the Wedding. Friday, December 30, 2011. Birthdays are great excuses to do some fun things! Which as the name suggests is an Alice in Wonderland themed tea/coffee shop with three locations in the city. The restaurant is very quaint and the food is amazing! We tried the Mad Hatter's Platter for two with scones, sandwiches and desserts, all of which you can customize and the traditional Alice's Tea for our unlimited teapot of tea. Outside Alice's Tea Cup. And later after some shop perusal, Wicked!

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs: June 2013

http://ryanandadele.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Sunday, 9 June 2013. The new longest blog ever - everything between here and then. Since writing the last blog we have been 2 very busy African Canadians. I have not blogged in months and it's not for a lack of interest but we have been very, very busy! In the sloppy mess that is life, and this blog, here we go again. We cannot wait for that crunchy white stuff. Thanksgiving promised to be a little warmer with the promise of turkey and festive beverages. Thanksg...

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Sunday, 22 January 2012. A most awesome December 2011 and the start to 2012. So here we are again. It's blog time which means that we are unfortunately at the end of our very long and very awesome holiday. I/We are tired but very, very happy. Happy to be home but sad that Neal and Mary have left and sad that my parents are about to leave (Probably have left by the time I post this). Life is so bittersweet like that! Also enjoyed Tacos on the beach with them and ...

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs: March 2011

http://ryanandadele.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Sunday, 27 March 2011. So Winter is supposed to be over but there have still been quite a few days of snow and there are currently big beautiful flakes floating around outside. The best thing about the weather at the moment is that it's still snowing but has warmed up substantially. Has been as warm as 4 degrees Celsius and not really much colder than minus 5, so most of the snow melts before it can form a decent layer. ( It's freaking cooking! 3 I will never fa...

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Wednesday, 29 June 2011. I'm the King. You can feed me now. A little older since we last chatted. Again, we have been busy and have lots to tell you. The first thing that we should tell you is that we are staying here another year. We have decided and the clinic has accepted our request to stay with them for another year. After that? Will have to see what happens. After my last blog we made our way up to Calgary and then Winnipeg on our live music run. We resort...

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Saturday, 18 January 2014. The infrequent blogger, 3 plus years in Canada Eh. Hey party people. I hope that 2014 has been excellent and better/more awesome than 2013. 2013 was fantastic and will require some effort to better or match! This area of the world is gorgeous, Portland just might be our favourite American city and we drank more beer than probably possible this epic roadtrip. Here are a few snaps of our stops and some of the highlights. I would feel bad...

The adventures of rooibaard and sexy legs. Wednesday, 18 June 2014. Happy and feeling glad. 8220;I’m happy, I’m feeling glad, I’ve got sunshine in a bag”, are the lines of one of my favorite songs by the Gorillaz. Unfortunately I inherited an inability to sing more than one line of almost any song, often jumble up the words and as such, suspect , that those might not be the lyrics to one of my favorite Gorillaz songs. 2014 has been a wonderful, busy year. We received this happy news earlier in the year.
